Your rib cage consists of 24 ribs - 12 on the right and 12 on the left side of your body. Their function is to protect the organs that lie beneath them. On the left side, this includes your heart, left lung, pancreas, spleen, stomach, and left kidney. When any of these organs are infected, inflamed, or injured, pain can radiate under and around the left rib cage. Depending on the cause, it might feel sharp and stabbing, or dull and aching. My pain is in my lower back left side. Hurts after sitting for more than 5 minutes and really bad when I wake up. Takes a minute to stretch my back out. I function somewhat normally when active but I can still feel it. Any info would be appreciated. I have a doctor's appointment a week from now and will be getting x-rays. Had a full body MRI less than a year ago that didn't show any abnormalities. I hate going to the doctor but when my 11yo daughter said "Don't die dad" that prompted me to get off my ass and stop f'ing around. I suggest you all do the same if you haven't already. Better late than too late...

I had these in my high school in 2014 when we have arm restling,I thought it was a nothing,Since I'm started to arm restling i ribs started to feel pain so it's truly hurt like im going to die.I ignored over a years but now I'm a college but the pain still there i have no money to go to the doctor.I hope that i will check to the doctor soon..😊

I asked my doctor when this happened to me, he said it was a trapped wind and that you need to take a bicarbonate mixture or anything you use to remove winds. Burping helped me relieve some tension and soreness, so I recommend to start with that. Also massage your back area where you feel the pain

I just ate and it’s a discomfort ache, I think also when I breath. It reminds me when I use to run and have sprints in between and I just felt like my lungs hurted for lack of oxygen

Thank you, KZbin! Unless my problem is pretty obvious - ie: severe stroke or heart attack I have found KZbin is my go to place to at least understand WTF is going on with me. If I make the decision to go to the doctor there are a number of possible things that may occur - only one that is good. First of all, you probably won't be able to get a timely appointment. You will either die or the issue will resolve by itself by the time the appointment comes up. Second, on arrival, while you are filling out paperwork and being asked a bunch of questions, they will be taking your blood pressure. The slightly higher than normal readings from this will go into your medical record for later use in prescribing all manner of BP medications. Third a Physician's Assistant will eventually come in and look you over, and if the pain is still there, will probably order all kinds of tests - all of which are designed to make someone rich. I wish I was joking.

​​@@AidenYusoYes I am alive 😁 I consulted to a doctor they said that it was a case of severe constipation, due to lack of excretion my stomach was slightly swelled and that's why when I touched my stomach it felt weird inside like liquid moving as I touch but doctor advised that to stop it from growing I have to get rid of constipation by increasing my fibre intake and start daily exercising. This really helped me and was finally reliefed by the pain and constipation btw it took like 15days to fully cure. I was so scared at that time so I searched it on internet but results were more scary because every website will link my symptoms to cancer 😂 I'll always consult a doctor from now on instead of searching for results on the internet.
