Why was Rafael so special? What Made him so much more special, that he had a whole era named after him?? There were many artist.

Great questions! His skill and way of painting. I believe it is his way of executing and painting his figures and also creating his beautiful composition and attention to detail. Like the other two masters from the High Renaissance time, Leonardo and Michelangelo, Raphael also took art to the next level for his generation! But I would definitely love to dive in and explore more to find out what really made him so special!

The art of Raphael dominated English academic art teaching at the time. The Pre Raphaelite Brotherhood reacted against this and sought examples of art before Raphael to emulate, hence the name Pre-Raphaelite.
