I love how respectful you guys are towards different cultures and religions. One of the reasons muslims can not drink water during Ramadan is because drinking water while fasting actually dilutes the minerals and vitamins from our bodies. Minerals are important for your body to stay healthy. Your body uses minerals for many different jobs, including keeping your bones, muscles, heart, and brain working properly. They are needed to make enzymes and hormones.

In Ramadan , fasting starts from dawn to sunset . During time of fasting , no food or drink, or private relation between married ones . It a chance to realize well how poor people feel when they couldnt find any food to make you more compassionate and merciful towards them . Ramadan encourage people to give charity and support the needy one , and to thank god who provide you , and make you able to buy food coz many others around world couldnt .

Hi guys! Thank you for covering up Ramadhan in Dubai. Muslims all around the world are fasting atm 🌎 yes, there are certain conditions in which you don’t have to fast but its not because of work or anything. It is only if you are sick, too old and mentally and physically unable to then you can skip fast and pay the due to the poor as an act to replace fast for those who can’t fast for a health reason. I hope your visit to Dubai really hopes your eyes and heart to the religion of Islam and you are able to see the happiness and peace you will have in this life and the afterlife, if Allah wills ☪️ Ameen

Can I say as a muslim, it is totally not disrespectful towards our religion to eat and drink as you please whilst we are fasting. Even for muslims it is encouraged/not allowed to fast in certain conditions (for example when travelling, when there is a medical condition etc). It is truly something between God and the believer. Although I totally find it beautiful when people like you and others are trying to be very mindful and respectful!

hi guys, not sure. I just got back from Dubai (19 April) and we were eating and drinking anywhere during the fasting hours. A few years ago it was like you say, you couldn't eat/drink in public but it has defo changed this year. I was drinking water in public around JBR and Malls, even grabbing a wrap and eating whilst walking in public.....all during he fasting hours. In the malls the food outlets would be previously partitioned off so eating was private or curtains on restaurant windows, but that was not present this year.....

Let's be honest, if tourists had to abide 100% by Islam like locals do, then Dubai would be empty. If Westerners were told they couldn't eat or drink anything in daylight hours in Dubai and have to cover arms and legs in 35 degree heat, then again, I very much doubt Dubai would be anything like as popular as it is now. The businesses of Dubai know they have to relax the traditions for tourists otherwise they would likely go out of business.
