They filmed WEGG near the outskirts of Austin where I'm from. My mom who was a paramedic at the time was told by her coworkers who were stationed near the film sets said Depp was a major hollywood snob. He'd cut in line at the lunch lines and was just generally a snob. Not sure if that's true I just remember hearing that.

Agree! I almost clicked off because of it. But I had to remind myself they used it as an insult and an actual medical term, back during the time of this film, and the film itself also triggered me in a sense of not using an actual disabled individual for the role, but again…during that time they didn’t. Not that they do much, nowadays, but they are slowly starting to. He played his character well and I understand the “meaning” or whatever behind it, but as a disabled person I have my opinions. You’re allowed to be upset over it. Don’t let someone tell you there’s no reason to be💛
