@LetsCookYall3 жыл бұрын
@TeNice Xoxo - Hey girl!! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching again this week! LOL, you are so right, charcuterie is just fancy lunchables, and hopefully fun and easy! I totally love to eat like that, but Tim is always like, is there more food? Haha! He seems to think it's just a snack, leading up to the main course :) Definitely try the cookie recipe, they are so good and really easy to make! Depending on how old your nephew is, he can likely help with most any part. By the time you get to the part where you add the chips and M&M's, you switch to a wooden spoon and just lightly mix the dough, but it is a very thick dough, so fun for him to mix it up maybe?!! I know you'll love them, but would love to hear if you do make them. :) Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Hi Stacy and Tim! Your channel is fast becoming one of my favorites. That you cook mainly meals for two without, I don't think, gigantic amounts of leftovers is so attractive. We, too, are just two and I have such a time cooking a smaller amount. Always end up with enough to feed an army? So we end up eating leftovers forever. (For some reason, if I freeze leftovers for another day end up forgetting about them.). Just to thank you for sharing smaller recipe amounts.

@BnB Temple - Hi Barb! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching, and my goodness, you left the kindest comments, so thank you very very much! I'm so very happy to hear that you are enjoying the content and that it might be helpful in any way. That is exactly what we are hoping to accomplish and help others with ideas on what to cook for one or two, and maybe some new ideas, or reminders of old favorites. I'm so glad you are enjoying the small batch sizes. I'm with you, if I make something that makes a huge amount, I usually put it in the freezer and then have the hardest time both remembering to use it, as well as working it into my menu plan. I'm so glad to hear it's not just me that struggles with that! Hope you guys are having a great weekend, and that the upcoming week will be fabulous! Have a blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

I love your videos, and how you make amazing meals from what you have on hand! Asking Tim to cut the sandwich diagonally made me giggle - my mom always cut sandwiches just in half. Once my dad made us a sandwich and cut them diagonally and I was so excited it seemed more fun.. so now that's how I cut my son's sandwiches. Thanks again for another great what's for dinner video!

@Amay A - Hey there!! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching this week! I'm so glad to hear that you are enjoying the content, and hopefully getting some ideas for meals to fix at your house. Tim and I have a ton of inside jokes (the product of being married for over 25 years), and he is forever wanting to cut things into a "T" shape - to mark it for him! LOL! It's just a little funny inside thing we have going on. He also takes a marker and marks any leftovers from restaurants that we bring home, he puts a big T on them to let me know they are HIS and not mine, LOL!! I do like to cut my stuff diagonally though, it also stems from my childhood. My mom did the same thing, she either didn't cut things or just cut it in half (and when I was young, I always wanted the crusts cut off my sandwich and she would never do it!), so I really like my stuff cut on a diagonal :) It also makes a prettier presentation, I think, and it definitely is more fun. If you have big cookie cutters, try cutting some stuff for your son with those sometime too, especially things he is not as fond of eating. We did that a few times when nieces/nephews have come to visit, and it seemed to help them eat more!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@Logan Danae - Hi Logan, and welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by our channel, and for taking the time to watch and leave us a comment. We are so glad you are here, and we are so glad to hear that you are enjoying the content on our channel. 💖💜 Hooray, I'm so glad to hear that you totally "get" our banter and teasing. You honestly would not believe the number of comments we have received over the years of people who just don't understand that we are teasing, that we have a ton of inside jokes and often tease each other about them, and that we love to laugh and "pick" at each other, just to make our better half smile and be happy about something. Some people have accused us of belittling or embarrassing or berating the other, and that is totally never what we do, especially not on camera (not that we even do that when the camera is off, but still, even if we did, logic dictates that we could easily cut that part out or mute it or whatever). I'm so happy to hear that your parents had that kind of loving relationship and banter and modeled that for you. It's such a wonderful thing, to see your parents happy, secure, and enjoying each others company. You're so sweet, and it's exactly what you said, we have a loving, committed relationship, and one we work hard on, every single day. Thank you for saying that, and for your kind comments!! We look forward to hearing more from you in the future, and hope you enjoy some of the videos!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

Blackburn's is the BEST!!! I was born in Mississippi and we lived there until I was 8 (my extended family is still there). I grew up eating Blackburn's. However, after moving we always had trouble finding it in the places we lived so my parents would stock up when we visited family. When I got married my parents would make sure I had a bottle or two in my pantry. :) So my kids grew up eating it as well! Now that my kids are older, we just buy more when we find it so everyone has a bottle! My husband doesn't get our love for it as much, though! I do think that our food loves are often tied up in sweet memories! Love your videos and the simple, yummy meals you share!

@Kim Graham - Hi Kim, and welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by our channel, and for taking the time to watch and leave us a comment. We are so glad you are here, and hope that you will enjoy the content on our channel. 💖💜 Ooh, a MS born girl, I love it! Girl, we both grew up with Blackburn's syrup but I must confess that until I married my sweet Tim, I really had no idea that there were 2 kinds of Blackburn's syrup. He is super serious about only the biscuit syrup for biscuits and only the one with pancakes on the front for pancakes and waffles. I've been out of one and he just absolutely refuses to use the "wrong" kind on his food, LOL! It just tickles me, still! Growing up here, I always thought it was a MS product, but a quick Google search told me it is made in Texas, so go figure! I love, love, LOVE that your parents would keep you stocked with it, and your kids are growing up eating it, that's awesome! I bet you guys do stock up when you can find it, since you seem as committed as we are to that brand, haha!! I agree on the food memories, the smells and tastes and stories associated with certain foods from our children, or our kids, are just the best. Thanks again for the great comments, and please don't be a stranger! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

I sat down at the laptop hoping to watch some "Let's Cook Y'all" and there was Stacy with OUR West Bend again! I'm going to make those potatoes. I think my husband will like them. Thanks for posting easy meals for two. I'm trying to say goodbye to my fussy food days.
@LetsCookYall3 жыл бұрын
@mixedupjo - Hi there!! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching, and for the really and truly sweetest comments! You have no idea how happy it makes me to hear that the smaller sizes work for you. It seems like everything on KZbin is super sized, giant Costco hauls of $500 bucks, giant grocery hauls, giant meals that feed an army. While those are fun to watch, they definitely never applied to us. There's just the two of us, and while I love to cook and bake, there's just so much food that we can eat without turning into StayPuff Marshmallow people, LOL! So yes, I do try to make it a bit more doable, and sized better for us. We do like leftovers, and since Tim works from home, we often eat any leftovers for another meal at lunch or dinner. I've had several people ask for "less fuss" and "less involved" meals, so I am working on those, but it will be a few weeks before I can get more ideas together (still plotting, have to work those into my meal plans, etc). As for the potatoes in this weeks' video, they were good, but not outstanding. I did change the recipe, which was oven-based, and try in my West Bend (and please know that I LOVE that you have one and still use it, that makes me so happy!). They came out soft and good, and the topping of french fried onions helped, but they definitely were not crispy, like they might have been in the oven. I have a lot of other things that I have prepared in my West Bend that I do love and would make again. If you're looking for another side, I highly recommend our bbq green beans I do in our crockpot, and for main courses, I love simple things like our Chicken Caesar for sandwiches, Crockpot Chicken Santa Fe, crockpot ranch pork chops, and our Teriyaki chicken that you can eat with asian sides, or do in a "grain bowl" like we showed in our video, with rice and steamed broccoli. Those are all really great in the West Bend!! I think you said you tried the Italian cream chicken, and that's a good one too :) Hope some of this helps, and we have several new recipes coming. I have a lot of new things marked to try in the next 4-6 weeks, so stay tuned!! Thanks again for the great comments. Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

The game is on now, but Tim is at the golf course, so I'm patiently (maybe, maybe not) waiting on him to get home so we can watch the game together. We had some balloons near us a while back, for a balloon festival, and then we saw a lone one over our house last Saturday. Very cool! I love to watch them too. Will check on Cory Asbury but doubt he's coming anywhere near us :( I have been taking photographs since I was 12 years old, and as I have gotten older, I've realized more and more the value of recording people and places. We will never go there again, even if we go back to the same place or visit the same people, each time and situation is different, and they are all worth preserving and remembering. :) Hope you are having a great Sabbath too, and will have a fabulous week ahead. My redfish was so good, and my friends that got the crab cakes on fried green tomatoes said they were delicious, and in fact, one of my friends, the first plate I showed, she had been there before and gotten that and said it was too good to pass up!! @Plus Images T.V - Hey there!! Thanks so much much for stopping by and watching! Yes!! Definitely try a pork tenderloin in your air fryer if you have one that is big enough. This is my second one to do in the AF and it works great. My oven takes a while to preheat, so by the time my big oven is preheated, the pork tenderloin is over half way done in the AF so it saves me a lot of time. If you spray it really well, it is not that hard to clean up either, and it gets really crispy in the AF, we think. The cookies are a huge favorite here, so I really hope you get a chance to try them!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@Shop Sip Saute - Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching this week! Aww, you are so sweet, thank you for the lovely comments. Yes, it's always just been the two of us (no hungry teenagers in the house) and so I've always cooked for two. We've both found as we've aged, that we eat less (or really NEED to eat less), so sometimes it is a struggle to cook enough to show on the channel, and not overcook for just us. I'm incredibly grateful that Tim is always open to not only trying new things, but to always eating leftovers! My sister's husband is just like your husband, he is like a bottomless pit who never gains a pound, and it must be awesome for him (but none of the rest of us are like that!). The potatoes were good, but not something I will make again. To be fair, I switched up the recipe and used my little slow cooker, so they could have been better done the way the recipe was written, in the oven. Yum. Everything looked delicious. I am going to make your biscuit recipe. I have a big box of bisquick to use up. I have a very old broccoli casserole that calls of broccoli, onion, bell pepper, biscuit mix, eggs, milk and cheese to make a broccoli bake from the early 80s. I am going to fix your bbq chicken sandwiches and those cookies. Your pork tenderloin reminded me that I have one in my big freezer that needs used. I tend to forget things when I put things in my chest freezer vs using the one over my refrigerator. I usually store things I am going to use or need right away in my smaller freezer and things I have no real plans for but I get on sale in the bigger one. We had a great weekend. My moms 80th birthday was Wednesday so we had a surprise party for her in the Gazebo at her apartment complex. There was about 20 of us. Everyone could not make it since several live out of town but are coming into town in 2 weeks for my nieces wedding and could not make both trips. Mom was just excited because she got to meet the baby. It is her 1st great grandchild so she was really excited. Have a great week. You and Tim stay safe. @Cathy Feigert - Hi Cathy! Thanks so much for stopping by and watching this week! To be fair, the recipe for the potatoes called for them to be baked in the oven, so there's a chance they might be crispier cooked that way. They were soft and had a good taste, and the french fried onions helped, but they were definitely not one of the best new recipes I've tried. I probably won't try them again, but again, I didn't follow the recipe and tried my slow cooker rather than the oven. The cookies though, those are a definite tried and true recipe and they are SO GOOD! I really hope you get a chance to try them and I KNOW your family will love them!!! Happy Baking!! Mine is so sentimental because my sweet mama gave it to me. However, I do think they have a replacement now, or at least one that looks very similar. I have this one in my wish list at Amazon, to order if and when mine ever stops working -- amzn.to/3ADrLVr. It looks updated and hopefully works well like the older ones!! But this is the second pork tenderloin I have tried, and for me, it seems like it is a lot faster than waiting on the oven to preheat, and then cooking in the big oven. I think it cuts the time nearly in half and it fits great in my basket, so win-win for me. Tim always loves a biscuit!! LOL! I think my recipe is 1/2 cup of sprite or 7-up and I sometimes just use 6 of those 8 tablespoons, just depends on how the dough is looking :) We also use Mountain Dew in our Apple dumplings, which makes a huge flavor boost, but I hear ya on having soda and drinks in most foods. My mom had an old West Bend just like yours. The inside coating was wearing off a lot so she got a Crock Pot. It doesn't cook as well as her West Bend. I want to get her a new one, but all the reviews say the new ones are bad and aren't as good as the older ones. 😕
@LetsCookYall3 жыл бұрын
@Jen E - Hey Jen! Thank you so much for stopping by and watching! Oh no, I hate to hear that. My West Bend is "original" or "vintage" or whatever you want to call it, probably as old as your mom's! A little bit of the coating is wearing off inside, but not bad, and it's mostly on the upper portions so I am definitely still using mine. I know the one just like this one, West Bend discontinued, but there is a "new" and "updated" one on Amazon that I totally plan to try if and when mine bites the dust. I hate that the reviews are not good. I haven't read them, but I do tend to take them with a grain of salt, as there are usually as many bad ones as good online, ya know?! Still, I'm firmly in the camp of "they don't make them like they used to" for most things! LOL!! I hate to hear that, because I really love mine. It heats quicker, I can get more of a sear on things like chicken breasts and pork chops (because the cooking vessel is thinner, not ceramic like a crockpot, and it sits on a griddle plate that gets really hot), and it's just really the perfect size for the two of us. Oh well. Maybe mine will hold out a while longer, LOL!! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

I love syrup on biscuits.. my Granny spoiled me rotten when I was a kid.. lol.. never seen that kind.. where do you find it?..
@LetsCookYall3 жыл бұрын
@Denise Roper - Hey Denise! Thank you so much for stopping by this week and watching! I must admit, growing up, we ate butter and jelly on biscuits, so when I married Tim, the whole concept of syrup on a biscuit was a new one for me. Now, having grown up here in Mississippi, I had always seen Blackburn's brand syrup (I used to think it was a MS company, but I just google'd it and they are based in Jefferson Texas!), and I learned quickly that there are TWO kinds of Blackburn syrup. One has a picture of a stack of pancakes and the other has a picture of a plate of biscuits. When we were first married, I bought the pancake one and tried to get Tim to use that for his biscuits. I learned really quick that he needs one kind for pancakes and the other kind for biscuits, LOL! It's something that we've always laughed about for a quarter century, because I never knew the difference (or cared), and to him, it's a big deal, HaHaHa!! Where we live, you can find Blackburns syrup in any store, even Walmart. I hope you can find it where you live, Tim swears it is the best, but then again, he grew up eating it and it probably is the best because it's what he has always had! Me, I love pure maple syrup these days!! Hope that helps! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@Denise Roper - that would be something right up Tim's alley! He loves molasses but it's too strong of a taste for me. His dad used to grow grain sorghum (but I'm a city girl and I don't know if that was for feed for animals or could be processed for human consumption, again, Tim would know, LOL!). I don't know if I've ever seen sorghum syrup in our stores, but I know every store has the national brand of Grandma's Molasses, and I always have a jar of that on hand for Tim (I just use plain, pure maple syrup). I'll have to ask him, thanks!!!

@Karebear - Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by this week and watching! Actually, I did both! A pork tenderloin, with sides, is a lot for the two of us. We ate some the next day for lunch, and then I took the rest of the tenderloin, probably about 1/3 of it, and put in my Food-Saver and vacuum sealed and tossed in the freezer. I will take it out and probably do either pork fried rice (since this was a teriyaki marinated one, it will work great!) or possibly nachos with bits of the cooked meat on it, but probably the fried rice. An easy meal for a busy day in the future! Hope that helps! Take care, and have a wonderful and truly blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚

@@LetsCookYall Thank you for explaining! I’m just one person and I never bought pork tenderloin because I would have so many leftovers!
@LetsCookYall3 жыл бұрын
@@karebeareats - absolutely, happy to help! We have also done bone-in and boneless pork chops in our air fryer, and they work great. Probably a better size for one. You could do a package of two pork chops (skillet, air fryer, grill or oven), and eat one with some veggies, rice or potatoes for a side dish, and then freeze the other. You can use pork for pork fried rice, add to a stir fry with veggies, nachos, or go a Tex-Mex route and use the leftover chipped up meat inside a quesadilla or enchilada. Tim even takes leftover pork chop or tenderloin and just slices it and makes a sandwich. I believe a traditional "Cuban" sandwich is a mixture of roasted or cooked pork, some ham (like deli sliced meat), swiss cheese, and pickles, and it's usually grilled or done like a panini. That would be a great use of leftover pork too, so good and flavorful! Hope some of this helps! Have a great evening ----Stacy
