That is me on Bass Tony Saunders........ I was subbing for John. If you listen at some of the licks John Didn't play those type licks.......As a student of John Kahn I know what he played and what he didn't Plus you never heard JGB play this song...

thanks for making this treat available I liked what Jerry did with Merle better than what the Grateful Dead did (not that I'm complaining about what the GD did after enjoying 200+ shows of it) there was a very satisfying feeling listening to Garcia+Saunders together that they had no idea where they were going with whatever they were doing at the moment but they were at least as curious as the rest of us to find out where that would be it's great the way this just keeps picking up juice+funk as it ambles along

Hey now this is PURE GARCIA just beautiful playing and so melodic!! Jerry’s clean crisp solos just melt in this jam and his rhythm playing is just in the groove. This is a perfect example of why we all love Jerry Garcia Peace ☮️ from Hawaii Aloha

Being a deadhead these days is the shit. Back in the 90s it'd been damn near impossible to get a hold of this, unless you were in the right place with the right deadhead.🎸🌹🎶🌈🌞🌀🎷🥁🌠🌄🥂

Good point. We live in a great time for music. Not mainstream or much music of ‘today’, but for the first age in history we have the widest catalog ever for everything. Great time for music in general.

I think Jerry was having more fun with his own band.. rather than GD.. he was just able to express himself with music he really loved to play, that the Dead just couldn’t get into. I wore out all my keystone vinyl albums… along time ago.. my favorite is” my funny valentine”.. JGB was a great band especially when it featured John Kahn and Bill Vitt… Kahn was a better bass player than Lesh.
