I am a hairdresser that's quite experienced in direct pigments (mostly from self experience and learning color theory) because unfortunately, at least where I'm from, tiny town in the US, it's not very common to have fantasy colors, the ones that you do see look very similar to these hair fails because they don't teach you very much in school. Which sucks because I paid $20,000 to go to beauty school, they could at least teach us a bit more than the bare basics.

As much as I wish I could take credit for it, I couldn't craft my way out of a wet paper bag! 😉 The detail and colors are absolutely stunning and I'd love to get a print to hang at home. I also wish I could tell you how to look up her work but for some reason everytime I try my reply gets removed. I tried to do the same for another commenter about a year ago but the same thing happened then too. I don't understand why it happens and I've tried all kinds of goofy and sneaky ways to include the name of her online store but nothing works... I was a cosmetologist in the mid 80's/mid 90's ( I chose a different career path due to a back injury). Early in my training, I memorized the color chart and the secondary colors (opposites to cancel out each other) I remembered because I am a Minnesota Vikings fan and my best friend was a Denver fan. So, it was Christmas (red/green), Vikings (yellow/ purple) and Denver (orange/blue). I was 18!!!

As long as there are people willing to watch, there will always be hair fails! Hair Buddha you are my favorite to watch these with. I do learn. I laugh and sometimes I get anxiety watching people destroy their own hair or worse, their loved ones hair! I had long healthy virgin hair and I also fell victim to the Covid hair bleaching fails. I bleached with 40 vol and left to get more bleach while half my head was in the cap. The under area of my hair had bleach in it for hours. Still didn’t get the whole head so I bleached it all again. And again and each time learning a little more. By the end my hair was still not uniform or even light enough to tone. I am still suffering a year later after losing 18+ inches. My profile picture is a reminder of the hair I lost. I don’t think I would ever create a fails video though. I just want to chalk it up to a learning experience.

These are right up there with the “Pinterest EPIC FAILS” that used to come out on FB 10 years ago…..the person would shoe their cupcakes that looked like a Smurf was run over by a truck and then show the PROFESSIONAL Photo of Sesame Street Cookie Monster Cupcakes that TRULY look like The Cookie Monster. These people just do not understand that a Stylist is a LICENSED ARTIST with ACTUAL EDUCATION. That would be like someone taking out their own appendix in my world LOL!!! I paid 100 euro to go blonde in a hair salon. They bleached my hair to orange, then put the blonde in. The end result was still orange. They told me to wash it with silver shampoo and it would be fine. I fell for it... worst 100 euro regret. I felt like I could have had a better result if I did it myself.

This week I accidentally got a perfect ombre. I put a baseball hat on and went swimming in the river for two hours. The water turned my length silver but the top of my head stayed indigo (blue purple). The middle lightened up only a little. I would never try that in a chlorinated pool though! 😂

I have colored my hair for over 30 years. Some times it turned out good, other times not so much. I have even had professionals ruin my hair. But it’s always best to get a competent hairdresser, that specializes in color. The money I spend in doing it myself was almost the same as a professional. It’s a horrible thing to destroy your hair.

If you're not going to go to white before using Arctic Fox, choose a dark colour. You'll be much, MUCH happier with the results than if you're trying for a lighter, pastel or pink. I used Aquamarine and Phantom Green over my very lightly bleached brown hair and it turned out a lovely, dark emerald green. Luckily, my hair holds green pigments like nobody's business, even though I haven't had any dye in my hair for more than a year, there is still a slight hint of green to the lower third of my hair.

My hair is now three colors. On purpose. Purple on top, fuchsia through the middle section and dark blue underneath. Kind of like a double peek-a-boo. Not a professional. Literally learned everything from watching you. Getting ready to do my roots next week, after my menstrual cycle has passed because I know your hair is much more vulnerable and fragile during your cycle and I'm going to use 10 volume on my roots. What's your opinion of the brand of bleach called brite , I tried it and loved it , cream bleach and cream developer. I could actually comb through my hair after using it no conditioner needed and it's not dried out at all and lifted well.

My hair is 36 inches long and tbh I think that's the only reason I haven't added my own hair fail to the list 😂 it takes way too long just to wash, condition and dry, I don't have the energy or time to be messing with bleach or colours, as much as I would love to have bright vibrant hair. I wouldn't even put the hairdresser through that task, it takes long enough for a trim 😂

I think the only colour that pretty much covers everything is black or maybe darkest brown? Idk as I've never used rainbow colours, but green seems to be a mega problematic colour to fix... 🥺

@@Little-Sparrow it depends on the formulation of the darker colours...HB explained in other videos that black can also have some parts of blue pigment inside so it can be tricky to put on 'cause it might accentuate the green parts. Colouring hair is a very skilled thing to do...if I were her I would try with a dandruff shampoo which destroy a lot crazy pigments like those and after some shampoo I'd try to redo the colours but I would touch up every 2 weeks to let the pigments be very bright and not dull

I dyed my hair last month I’m originally a level 4 brown and wanted to go to level 3 which is the darkest brown it was difficult to section my hair bc it’s very thick but I was able to do it with very little patching and I bought two boxes to make sure I had enough, I ended up using 1 1/2 bc I knew one would not be enough for my hair but luckily where there are streaks of my natural hair it blends in with the new colour so it’s not really noticeable overall I’m happy with the results 😁🙌🏼
