You did miss one small thing. In both of Hypno's songs, you can sometimes see a white hand try to grab GF. This is a reference to the Buried Alive creepypasta battle in Red and Blue. Rumor said there was a scrapped boss battle in Pokemon Tower where you could fight Buried Alive. Losing this battle would result in a Game Over screen and Buried Alive holding your body, indicating that you died.

Actually missingno is 49 scrapped Pokemon, as there were 49 slots left over for Pokemon. Under the right conditions, these slots merge together in an attempt to give you a nonexistent pokemon, and it's appearance alone it corrupted... All and all, due the how awful the first Pokemon games were coded, this is basically what happens when you have Spaghetti code.

Well, sort of. You’re right that Missingno is related to the 49 scrapped Pokemon - more specifically, Missingno is a placeholder that was used to fill the ID slots of the 49 scrapped Pokémon. However, Missingno’s stats, design, and information don’t actually have anything to do with the scrapped Pokemon. Instead, everything from the glitchy appearance to the Bird/Normal type to the weird stats are the result of the game trying to read unrelated data (more specifically, the party of some random Biker) as Pokemon data! So yeah, even more spaghetti code than you might have expected. (There is one bit of info that Missingno takes from the scrapped Pokemon, though: a few Missingno have unique cries from their scrapped Pokemon counterparts.)

Gold has a backwards cap, spikey hair, and a jacket. Buried alive was a creepy pasta about a scrapped boss that replaced the Cubone‘s Mother and had (if I remember) a Mewtwo, Mew, and two Mysterious Hands. If you lost, there would be a scene of Buried Alive dragging Red to be presumably killed and Game Over would be plastered above it. I won’t describe Lost Silver as, well, Blue Stop Sign already explained.

Nice video! I never knew about some of those creepypastas. That being said, I do want to mention one thing: Missingno actually has a lot more to it than you might expect! There are a lot of videos out there explaining what Missingno is and why it’s so weird (I don’t completely understand it and it’s kind of complicated), but here’s my best attempt at explaining it. Missingno isn’t actually a glitch Pokemon - at least, not entirely. It’s actually a placeholder! Originally, Pokemon Red and Blue were meant to have 190 Pokemon, but in the end 39 were cut (actually, it was 40, but then Mew was added last-minute to replace one of the 40 scrapped Pokemon). To fill their ID slots, Missingno was created as a “blank entry” of sorts, without any data besides a name. Obviously, you weren’t supposed to encounter Missingno, so there isn’t any actual data associated with Missingno (with a couple of exceptions). So when you encounter Missingno, the game freaks out and reads a bunch of unrelated data which it then interprets as Pokemon data, which is why Missingno is so weird. More specifically, the game interprets the party information of a couple of random Bikers as Missingno’s data. For instance, the reason Missingno knows Water Gun twice and Sky Attack is because the Biker has two Koffing and a Weezing. Koffing has a Pokémon ID (not Pokédex number) of 55, and Water Gun has a move ID of 55, so when the game looks at the code for that Biker’s Koffing while looking for Missingno’s move information, it goes “oh, okay, ID number 55 - that means Missingno has Water Gun!” And it’s the same for Weezing (ID 143) and Sky Attack (ID 143). And finally, why does Missingno corrupt the hall of fame data and give you 128 of the item if your bag’s 6th slot? The first one happens because the data the game uses to draw Missingno’s sprite ends up making the glitchy sprite so large that it overflows into the data after the region of the game’s code where the sprite is stored. That next part of the code just so happens to handle Hall of Fame data. And the 128 items glitch is just because the game tries to update the part of the code that controls whether you’ve seen or caught a Pokémon once you encounter Missingno, but Missingno (being a placeholder and not a Pokémon) doesn’t have that, so the game instead updates what it THINKS is that seen/caught code: the bit of the code that controls the number of items in your bag’s 6th slot. (Oh yeah, and those exceptions for Missingno’s code I mentioned earlier… first, the last three Missingno entries actually do have sprites! The game uses them to store the sprites for the Kabutops fossil, the Aerodactyl fossil, and the Ghost. And second, nine Missingno actually have unique cries! These may have belonged to the Pokémon that had those ID spots before they were scrapped.) I hope this was a fun read! For missingno., you did get a few things wrong. Missingno. was never an experimental pokemon; it is, at its core, a glitch. Its sprite looks the way it does because it tries to read normal game save data and attempt to convert them to display as a sprite, hence the glitched look. The yellow missingno. appears when you attempt to evolve the most commonly found/referenced missingno., and other sprites like the pewter city museum fossils and the ghosts that can also sometimes load with missingno. The bird type, though, was correct; it was at one point supposed to be used, but was replaced with the flying type in the final version, though the bird type still appearing in the files for red and blue.

I like to think this mod is only half-canon, why you might asking? I don’t really think GF can actually die since she’s a demon, BF isn’t actually dead, he’s just hypnotized and GF let her guard down and got hypnotized, which wouldn’t actually work on her since she quickly snaps out of her trance in the game over screen. If Hypno had tried to kill Girlfriend, it wouldn’t actually work. If this mod was canon, it wouldn’t make sense in a timeline sense.

About the end of hypno phase 2, I’ve seen a version of the mod where in the end of the song, hypno uses his power to instantly hypnotize gf, and you can see as the screen blinks as we flashes his hypnotize and then the song just ends. Edit: idk if there is no version for sure or if it was just removed after this or if I just don’t see it anymore but I know I did see a version that this happens

Theory: Bf could have met sliver when he was asleep and dreaming. While bf was captured and dreaming, Hypno found gf. When bf was dreaming he could have met the Pokémon game seller in his dream. Then he saw gold in his dream. Gold was showing how he is now going to be forgotten like he was because he got captured by hypno. Everyone will forget his name in time, probably even forget he existed after now that he got captured. That my theory of how and why we saw gold and rap battle him. Edit banbuds has sent a “leak” showing hynpo as a baby and saying some unknown person jumped? This could be referring to his trainer, as she got probably had enough of the teasing as she jumped of the bridge. (Don’t do this to people this can happen in real life if u bully or teasing to the point where people commit suicide because of that.) at the time hynpo didn’t know if she was sleeping or not. Later in his life his life he came back and realized what happened. Idk if he grew hate for trainers or not, but he started kidnapped kids or people. No matter how many dreams he ate he could never feel the same. He later saw gf and bf. Saw them rap battle and stalked them. Gf looked just like his trainer. He probably even saw daddy dearest. (That’s why he talked about him in safety lullaby song.) He kidnapped bf as bait so gf will come looking for him. Then he kidnapped gf after left unchecked. This edit theory was from multiple comments from the leak bandbuds showed I also added some of my theory’s like hynpo’s plan to capture gf and how he talked about gf’s father in safety lullaby. I tried to put these theory in one theory in chronological order so I hoped u liked it. STAY SAFE!

Some more info on Missingno.: Missingno. is actually several different pokemon, with the ones using its default sprite all being seperate placeholders for empty slots that used to be occupied by scrapped Pokemon in the first game, I.E. Omega or Gyarth. The bird type was actually one of two types that became the flying type, since almost all of the wind type creatures were also bird type, so they just made the moves of those types along with the pokemon of those types either normal or flying instead. as for the ones without the default missingno sprite, they just needed pokemon to handle those sprites for where you see them. Missingno.'s name is intentional, though (it stands for Missing Number, as all Missingno. dont have anything like name pointers and stuff), and some of the Missingno.s have leftovers of the pokemon that was there, like the cries of said pokemon, and in one case, iirc, they even swapped a used pokemon's slot and data with a missingno. during development, but not the cry, leaving the intended cry of said pokemon (i believe it was spearow? maybe?) completely unused! the most iconic missingno. cry is the exact same as one of the used pokemon though as most missingno no longer have their unique cries, so like yaknow

MissingNo’s name means Missing Number and is garbage data being used to make a Pokémon. It knows Water Gun twice and Sky Attack for base moves. Surprisingly, MissingNo has index numbers for Gen 2 Pokémon. The “Bird” typing is a beta type similar to Beast. It is assumed Bird became the Flying type. However, Bird has no Resistances or Weaknesses.

actually, there was even a anime episode in the original Indigo League where some random guy uses a Hypno to cure peoples insomnia, however the hypnos power is so strong that he accidentally ends up hypnotizing some kids into believing that they are pokemon, they end up running into the forest and acting like pokemon. its a creepy episode because Ash is confronted by a mother asking him to find her child, and he asks if that could be him.

Theory: Since BF and GF are under hypnosis from hypno lost silver(aka gold etc) since he is dead is trying to free BF from the hypnosis and defeat hypno so he doesn't get a fate he didn't deserve and that he GF and free the rest of the people that hypno hypnotized what really supports this theory is that when you lose to lost silver (aka gold etc) he doesn't kill you he just dissappears into he darkness. But hey that's just a theory A GAME THEORY (please kill me)

I always thought that the second phase was a reference on how apparently (dont remember the certain game pokedex), hypno dies when he fails hypnotizing someone. This is weird since hypnosis is a move which has a 60% chance of hitting, so hypno has a pretty big chance to miss. But i guess he did not FAIL hypnotizing them, he just missed.

From what Im aware a big clue to what missingno. is is in its name, being short for missing number. It's not a scrapped pokemon or anything like that but a bunch of random digits that are meant to fill in for if the game had trouble loading up the data for the various pokemon encounters in the game. Like for example you go through some grass and the game generates a weedle encounter but is having some problems pulling up all it's data. The game would then call up the missingno. files to help fill in what it's having trouble getting to come up correctly. Missingno. is basically a virtual band-aid. Us encountering it as its own thing at all is basically because the series of events we do that lead to us being able to is actually messing with what the game is looking at for encounter data when on that coast and instead of pulling up a pathing to correct pokemon encounter files it's instead pulling up the file path to what is supposed to be used to fix other encounters. At least that's what I remember of what it is. Missingno. also can be made to appear in later generations too either through glitches or hacking and will generally appear as a couple question marks in a black circle or some version thereof if encountered.

One extra detail about missingno, is that the place where boyfriend and missingno face off is the same place where missingno can be encountered in pokemon red, yellow and blue, on the east coast of cinnabar island. Pretty cool detail in that song.
