I'm at a really weird spot with depression in my life, but seeing the two of you tackle life and maintaining a positive outlook really gives me hope that I can make the life of my dreams as well. Just so you ladies know a video every Sunday doesn't have to mean a completed project. Lots of youtubers put out a weekly video regardless of progress it can always be vlog style talking about where you are and the challenges of the project. Either way we will always be here no matwhrn the video goes up

A small thought I wanted to share: I never click on a video expecting a fully finished project from start to finish. I don't even need a good story! I just like compelling and REAL people (which you guys are). I know the algorithm is something you will always have to fight with, but I think if you posted regularly even if it's just a run on the beach and a little chat, your subscribers would watch. 😉Happy New Year!

Agree. You actually are more detrimental with the algorithm too when you don't post regularly. I think that has almost been the only thing that hasn't changed with the algorithm since its inception, regular posting = higher algo engagement regardless of any other factor.

@@MattWeber Regular posting is only a tiny part of the algorithm. KZbin is watching dozens of metrics. Sometimes I look behind the scenes at what KZbin knows about the people who watch my videos...and I'm amazed. My videos aren't monetized, but for those that are, all of those things are important to KZbin when they are selling advertising.

Balance - so important. My dad retired at 57. Full retirement (Europe) but everyone questioned it because benefits were reduced. He and my mom (who didn't work because of Fibromyalgia) got to spend many years together, riding their bikes to cafés and even traveling to the US to come see me. It turned out to be the right choice: my mom passed away of a stroke at 59 and my dad at 69 of Alzheimer's. Balance means you don't wait to enjoy life until you're retired...and it might be too late. Glad to see you back. Have a great week!

He said, “This is what I love about this type of reality TV. It’s just both of you, speaking about your honest feelings. Nothing is scripted, edited but not scripted.” He and I talk about balance in our lives all the time so we were glad to hear you talk about that as well. My son Sean and I would watch your channel every Sunday. He had a very agressive case of MS and sadly lost his battle in December, he was 33, I think roughly your ages. It's so good to see you back; and in such a tropical setting, too. You were missed. :) After watching this video, I have one thing that I want to share. As an older woman (considerably older), I can say that success has so many definitions, and the one that is often lost when we're younger is successful connections with family and friends. It's great that you have such a successful YT channel...I'm thankful for you. Being successful in your chosen career is a wonderful thing. Finding balance is even more wonderful. It would make me sad to know that you were spending time entertaining me when you'd rather be spending time with your family. I'm 62, and lost my Mom a few years ago. I was not as good at maintaining relationships as I could have been. I regret it, and it's unchangeable. So you have to do what feels right in your heart. You have to do that.

New Year's, for me, is just another day. There is too much pressure with crafting resolutions and then trying to live up to them. I want to focus on being the best person I can be daily. Each day is a day for growth or a day for relaxation. My struggle for 2024 is do I retire or not. Up to this point I wasn't worried but the upcoming election for the USA has me very concerned. The outcome of it will impact a lot of things in our lives. Not going any further into politics and I ASK that others not turn this in to politics. No matter who wins there are concerns and issues and that plays into do we retire now or later.

Hi Jaz and Crystal 😂 it's so nice to see you back. I've been watching you since you first started clearing around the cabin and building your road. Having lived in Northern Ontario for 20 yrs or so I could really relate to the blackflies and mosquitos you were dealing with lol. Right away I was impressed by your spirit(s), your love of dogs, and your "go get it" approach to so many challenges (and an awful lot of hard work and long hours). I'm a 73 yr old retiree and have very much enjoyed living vicariously through your great passion for life. I'm a great believer in the "yin & yang" of life and that events in our lives simultaneously contain both good and bad ... the victory over the last set of problems and the challenge of the new problems that will replace them. The winds of change are energizng, as we see in your latest video, and they can also be troublesome. I've become very comfortable with our vicarious relationship. You've done a fantastic job of reassuring us that you're not abandoning us 😘 You are already dealing with the yin & yang. Beautiful update. I love that you are thinking of the bigger picture. Life goes by to quickly having lost my dad then my mom 8 months after, fallowed by more then a douzen more friends and family member, and a few other life impacting changes. I can't stress enough to everyone hold the people you love tell them you love them and take time to spend time with them. Tomorrow isn't promised. Every day I fight the fight to stay positive to be stronger then my multiple mental health illnesses and other disabilities. Having this community has been my saving grace, my safe place, where I see I'm not alone and I receive so much inspiration. I LOVE hearing that you guys are bringing the power of balance into your lives. It’s imperative to your sense of well being. I’m 73 and I’m 73 and can tell you, I was an ovaries to the wall kind of gal. My husband and I were both major project people, so our docket was always full!! We never made resolutions, but would go to our local cafe and wrote a list of all the things we needed or desired. It was fun to go back to the previous years list to see what was actually accomplished , cross off everything that had manifested, then everything else was placed on next year’s list. It was fun and SOOO insightful. This was started 53 years ago! Balance is definitely the key ! You girls are smart and levelheaded! You’re doing amazing!

i want to forget 2023! im glad to see this video since i missed so much of your channel this past year. in the spring i fell and damaged my shoulder, crushed my hand, broke my sternum, had a serious head wound and broke my neck... in several places. now im trying to get through covid pneumonia. ive been on oxygen for 5 weeks now. it might be my lungs are damaged. so, im beginning to catch up on my favorite channels here. been pretty out of it for 8-9 months. glad to see your two happy and healthy, and the pups!
