My personal mash-up of Marvin Gaye's What's Going On flowing into the next couple of album tracks. I've always wished for the album to segue continuously. It's not perfect but it's close. The ending party sounds of the Detroit Mix helped flesh out the joined sections. Hope you like it.

The very best sounds of all time, by one of the very best artists, vocalist, & prophet of my era! I’m almost 71, I have yet to find a cut that can compare with marvelous Marvin Gaye! I look forward to hearing him in the heavenly choir! What’s happening brothers & sisters? Life & Times! The gift of the present, make the most of your precious time⏳..give God His props Y’all. I thank Him for blessing us with the matchless music & soul stirring sounds of Marvin Gaye. Flyin high ..Who really cares.. there’ll come a time.. bells won’t be ringin..it’s upon us! Get right with our Maker.. Live & let live, ..save the babies!!! Praise 👑God for these sounds!

This is my favorite Marvin Gaye album cover. My other favorite is the one with. him wearing a green skull cap. I will always LOVE MARVIN. I have to stop and listen to every album that is played, of Marvin I LOVED him. Cried for days after he was killed. Even today,9-5-2022,I have to stop and listen to this album. I wish he and Tammy Terrill had married. Too many gone too soon but this album and The Anthology will always have an influence on those who grew up in this era. This song is just as meaningful today as it was decades ago. Marvin, will never be gone and will be Missed for generations to come. I can't his songs without getting sad, however they also give me Hope. MISSING YOU FOREVER. BABY Boomer who TRULY LOVES MARVIN. SO MANY OTHERS BUT MARVIN IS ONE OF THE GREATEST!!!!

Today August 15, 2022 as I sit on my porch listening To Marvin, it brings back memories as I was returning from the war overseas, remembering the brothers that gave their all and are not coming home. As Marvin said “Who really cares or willing to try to save a world that is destined to die…what a shame, such a bad way to live…”? Immortal Words. Peace!

Teddy was singing, Gamble and Huff, or McFadden and Whitehead songs. Marvin was singing songs he wrote or co-wrote, they both deliver vocally. But, because, Marvin was singing songs that came from him, I have to give Marvin the edge. Marvin Gaye had four significant albums of many, ' Lets get it on' ' I want you ' Midnight Love ' What's going on' with 'Lets get it on' and 'What's going on ' being two of the greatest albums in music history. For those people who always specifying, greatest RnB singer, RnB and Soul music is the greatest form of music. So, being the greatest RnB singer, means you're the greatest singer.

Not only was this masterpiece the truth it was so good and thought provoking that the powers to be were so upset about Marvin calling them on their hypocrisy that they didn't even give this brother one award and Mr Berry Gordy fought him tooth and nail and didn't want him to record it! But 50 yrs later the words are still revelant and yet we are still suffering at the hands of our oppressor's and we are turning a blind eye to the chaos and strife that we fought so hard to get away from then!! What good is it to earn good money and buy nice things if we're getting slaughtered because of their hate of the black and brown man?? I'll leave you this fact to those who think we have made it,how is it that in Akron Ohio they shot (the police),a black man 60 times while he was handcuffed?? We ain't got nowhere Worth living for cause we're considered 2nd class citizens in the land we fought and helped build!! LOVE is needed today, and Marvin thank you for blessing us with this and many more of your soulful melodies!🙏

Marvin came with the message and left us too soon so did teddy pentergrass listen of those of that time the message is there. My daughter is 50 I explain about that decade she just like my sister. She loves the music and that time she said music spunk we had was heavy. She hates the world the way it is and so do I .but I love earth and real people.

This masterpiece of an album should be required study in a curriculum in High School or Sociology course. Flying High in the Friendly Sky is so poignant in his sad struggles with drug addiction especially when he sings “So stupid minded/I can’t help it.”. I really felt such pain and sorrow for this man. Rest in Eternal Glory Marvin.🙏🏾

I love this quartet of songs. James Jamerson is absolutely AMAZING on the bass (especially on "What's Happening Brother" and "Save the Children", the riffs and combination of whole, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes he manages somehow to make sound utterly coherent are simply mesmerizing).

I was in high school... Mumford in Detroit about a mile from Marvin's home on the corner of Outer Drive and Pennington. We would drive by his home wishing to see him but never did. But that time in our life was entangled in heroin and what went along with it. And his songs just tied into everything... it was a turbulent time in our lives when we could all relate to the message Marvin was singn bout you because it was so evident in our lives
