@SlapChopVince116 сағат бұрын
Main reason is definitely not injuries. O-Line is not even that banged up anymore. There's just no one in that rotation that can hold the edge against these teams. The next issue that stems from that is not game-planning to adjust for this. You can't have a drop back pass game when the edge rusher gets to the QB nearly untouched. Doesn't matter if we were completely healthy on WR if the QB doesn't have time to go through their progressions.
@leekirk7471Күн бұрын
People need to stop saying BV isn't a HC. He was brought into OU to improve the defense, which he has. He lost all 5 starters on OL from last year, has a QB that started his first game this season, and has been playing nearly the entire season without their top 5 receivers. It's kind of hard to produce points in that situation and not many coaches are going to succeed. It's surprising with the amount of experience the OL has that they got from the portal that they have played so poorly. Hopefully it's a scheme issue and now that the OC has been fired, maybe, just maybe, the OL will start to block better.
@stoicvizionsКүн бұрын
They need to run the offense they had when Lincoln Riley was the OC/HC. Anybody that thinks BV is the problem doesnt know ball. That defense is tough but they’re never off the field. Too much misfortune on offense isnt BV’s blame. They need a new S/C coach

Between last season and this season we've lost 8 OL to either the draft or transfer portal. Some of those guys left earlier than they should've, but the other guys that we had should've been developed more. We have multi-year starters on OL right now, but they don't seem to show it. Cohesiveness alone, they don't have that chemistry, but individually, these guys should have the experience to pick things up quicker than they have. This is definitely an unfortunate year for the offense and for Litrell, but OU is the 7th most talented team in college football. There shouldn't be excuses as to why we can't adjust to what we have or don't have. Litrell is responsible, but so are others out there. It sucks to be fired, but I still believe it had to happen for OU to go into the off-season and find an offense that'll take them to the next level. Because from where they are now, they're not competitive in any aspect on offense. Id expect OU to completely replace the entire offensive staff and it sucks for those that have helped us so far, but it needed to happen.

If we have a offense that is good but not great, we are undefeated right now. Part of the issue is injuries for sure but much was lack of development and preparation by Litrell and overall play calling was terrible. We'll see what we can do the remainder of the season but that 6-6 prediction may not even happen if we don't make big improvement on offense.
@SlapChopVince116 сағат бұрын
This is an abusrd statement. They lost 3 games by double digits and two by 30+. The games would be more competitive, but undefeated would be very far from a sure thing.

@@SlapChopVince1 thats exactly why we lost. Kinda like losing to UT 49-0 one year, them beating them the next. The defense can only do souch when the offense is turning the ball over with pick 6s and fumble returns for TDs. Opposing offenses play free because they don't have to fear an offense on our side doing anything. Really simple idea. Not the least but absurd.

"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". This is probably why Seth Littrell was fired. You scheme and call plays for the players you have (to their strengths) not for the players you want. That's the frustration. It means keep it simple if needed and don't keep running plays your offense has shown you they're incapable of running week in and week out and then have the audacity to be surprised when it (still) doesn't work.
