crazy that plenty of people that have tons of hours without any kind of progression reminds me of the "good old days" of arena shooters that had no progression but people just wanted to play *because they were fun*
@thingsiplay3 ай бұрын
I had ton of progression in Underlords too, when the game was in beta phase. Its not the first time Valve does that. I had ton of progression after the last update of the game too and to be honest, I don't care about progression. If a game is fun, then I play for the fun, not for progression. Therefore this is not as crazy as you think. Can't wait to play this new game. Was waiting long enough for it, looks so interesting. I just hope Valve will work on the game past the initial phase and not let it rot like Underlords.

I tried one game after getting an invite. Honestly, having never played a MOBA... It's cool, really well made and high production value, but I'm having a really hard time understanding why people play these games so far. Don't people get tired of just playing the same game on the same map over and over?
@noahdavidson13433 ай бұрын
Do you have any idea how much dust 2 people have played lol. MOBA games actually involve lots of variety because of build and team comp. It's like how a fighting game is always a blank 2d space, the map isn't really important it's just a place for the stuff to happen.
@MrHocotateFreight3 ай бұрын
Some people, for reasons beyond me, stick to one game for life. I have recently seen examples of monster hunter and minecraft players who simply never branched out past their original game It's crazy to see, just a massive pile of potential thrown to the wayside. With seriously good experiences In there too! Just...ignored!
@TLC6733 ай бұрын
Think of it like Chess. Seriously like Dota 2 is basically Chess 2. Yes the map is the same but there are limitly endless possibilities and combinations, no two games are ever the same.
@ieatvirgins3 ай бұрын
I don't like MOBAs, but think about fighting games. Playing the same game on the same stages (usually with few mechanics differences between stages) is exactly what goes on there.
@luk4aaaa3 ай бұрын
Variety and fun comes from character matchups, build variety depending on performance level and enemies and also just that the core gameplay loop of laning, sieging and teamfighting is very very fun. MOBAs give you a great feeling of mastery whenever you learn something new from it’s systems.

A game under NDA that anyone can be invited to. The game leaks, attracting more players, but only those actively looking for it. Smart

Also not giving rights to big streamers to stream it and tell about their opinion and calling the obvious like the game Is unfinished etc. those who tries it will have their own opinion on the game pretty smart.

Loyal faucet lickers who've been playing Valve's mid TF2, Dota2 and CSGO (all overrated games who's only purpouse to exist was to be microtransaction platforms) almost religiously. Those people will never say anything negative about Valve, despite along with Bethesda being early pioneers of the microtransaction galore trend.

They invented it lol - unless they add not only battlepass, but also ton of microtransactions, this game is gonna cost money to buy. And unless it's free to play, nobody is gonna buy it. The only reason Valve made TF2, Dota 2 and CSGO was to sell kids expensive ingame trash (in the case of CSGO even gamble).
