13:45 Small correction, the man responsible for the nursery rhymes is actually Dr. Campbell. He was given permission by Dr. Marmont to set up that experiment. Dr. Campbell is the man we hear at the end of the nursery rhymes side mission.

Thank you for the correction! It's been a while since I last replayed AW2, and especially since collecting all the Nursery Rhymes, but I thought the timeline was a bit mixed-up for Lake House to occur when it does as an interquel, yet still have Marmont radio you after he would have been Taken. As it's another researcher entirely, it all lines up a bit more neatly.

Oh also I forgot to add in Alan Wake 2 we could find a document where it is written about Dr. Marmont's wife, Diana Marmont "Dr. "Jules Marmont sprinted down the corridor". His lab coat fluttered after him. Red lights flashed on the walls. Sirens screamed. Marmont couldn't stop smiling. It was his experiment that had triggered the alarms. In his World, alarms meant progress. This could be the breakthrough he had been waiting for. He would be the one to get his name in the annals of FBC history. Not his wife. Diana. Not Darling. that smirking asshole. At the far end of the corridor, the lights suddenly blinked out. The red lights went dark with increasing speed. A wall of darkness rushing towards him. The alarms warbled and died. Marmont stopped in his tracks. Admired the purity of the darkness. As it swallowed him, a final spark of pride flashed through his mind. This was his work. His breakthrough."

Yes it does, but it attacks different areas with different intensities. Obviously, it goes berserk whenever Alan is in an area, but he was never at the Lake House, and it apparently tore the place apart for some reason we don't yet know, while it usually just abducts people or causes minor damage if Wake isn't involved.

You bring up the fact that the painter is killed in a comic but this is Alan wake we’re talking about here. Alan can bring back anyone he wants for any reason through the power of the dark place, only thing is there’s always a balance that the art has to do so his writing is consistent in quality. It’s very possible Alan could’ve brought him back but a consequence of that being some strange effect around the experiments in the lake house.

The setting of Alan Wake 2 is always afternoon, it's a very very long afternoon it's like always sunset for 2 or 3 days, from the FBI duo coming to town to fighting Mr. Scratch. Maybe this DLC came from the day Nightingale came out from the lake or one day before Sage Anderson and Alex Casey came to town. What confused me was Alan Wake also mentioned the Lake House trouble with the Shadow in his manuscript, so this DLC happened because of Alan Wake playing God again?

What if this is after Alan goes back in the dark place. Estevez was left basically alone and we never got to see anything from the real world since, even with night springs. I’m betting playing the game again will have world changing events or just extra pages.

Thats an established fact that time works differently. Also going into the dark place is stepping out of time. This means there will always be multiple versions of you in the dark place and irl.​@joselucas6913
