In 2001 my parents bought their home in Santa Clara for 114k. Similar homes in their area are now going for 650k starting. That's what's going on in Santa Clara. Mass migration with external, old-money. If you're a millennial trying to make it here in southern Utah, you'll find yourself in a derelict apartment built in the 70s paying 1600 a month.

With that mindset, yes. If milennials flip that mindset and seek all the opportunity there is around here, they may not have that problem though. Things have changed nation wide, not just here.

Gen Z college student here - been paying about $1500 for a 900sqft apartment built in 2019. I feel like I'm living in a resort. All the while, I've managed to save up $30k for a down payment on a starter property sometime in the next few years. I don't take for granted how fortunate I've been, but it's very possible to make a living here by staying within your means and working hard.

@@livinginstgeorge Haha i know right. There aren't many restaurants in Ivins and Santa Clara at the moment though, and they'll be needed for the resort. The end goal all said and done will be 3000 rooms and is the 4 times bigger than the largest resort in the state. It'll be needed

And if you must know, I've lived here my whole life (17) my mom has lived here her whole life (47) and my grandma lived in the area since she was a toddler. And guess what we still moved here once upon a time and I'm sure people whined just like you about another house being built. I get it, it sucks to see your home change and more people claim it as their own but that's what's so great about being here is watching it grow so more people can see how awesome it is.

No it'll just give a different option and allow for more events to happen. The Dixie Center is really full already so it'll be nice to have another option
