My apologies that the video got cut off abruptly. I accidentally hit the stop button with my finger but didn't realize it right away. I basically went around the corner and showed 2 more cherry tomato plants that also were setting fruit and flowering. These two tomatoes don't look the best but it is what it is. Thanks so much for joining me today 🙂🥰

Thanks so much Angel. I'm so happy that the fruit and flowers are setting 😃❤The experiment was successful and I will continue to use this fertilizer as a cost effective way to help the growth of healthy plants. There's to much positive information on the internet to ignore it's benefits.

Hi Krista, my father used to remove most of the leaves from his tomato plants to increase airflow and light. I'm nowhere near as attentive to mine, but it does seem to work. Your plants are so healthy that I'm sure they could lose some leaves without worry. Maybe try it on a few plants? ~ Sandra
@AlmostaGreenAcre-zs5eu3 ай бұрын
For sure airflow is important and also helps pollinators get in and around the plants to. It's to late Sandra, they all got a haircut, lol. Thanks so much ❤

I looked it up to see whats in it this is pretty accurate it goes by a study done in Egypt with yeast sugar and water. But you were basically in pre flower so this works fine up to that point? Based on this data, the yeast extract in this study has an NPK of 7-0.4-0.8. This was then diluted to produce the final fertilizer which had an average NPK of 0.04-0.002-0.004. For comparison, a Miracle-Gro 24-8-16 diluted for houseplants has a final NPK of 0.024-0.008-0.016, which is the ideal ratio for plants. The yeast fertilizer has enough nitrogen, but is low in phosphorus and potassium. It does have low levels of some micronutrients. You can use it as a nitrogen source, but for an ideal fertilizer you’ll have to augment it with phosphorus and potassium from another source.

Thanks so much for taking your time to do some research and look up this study. I certainly agree with you that the yeast fertilizer is very low in phosphorus and potassium and those elements can be added to the soil by homemade means or store bought. I will answer your question, by saying that I believe it works beyond the point of pre flower based on a vast amount of online sites that I have looked up that discuss the benefits of using yeast. A simple google search with this question: "Can you use yeast ongoing with your plants as a fertilizer" gave me the following response: "Yeast metabolites, such as erythronic acid, cytokinin, and auxin, can stimulate the growth and development of crops. Yeast applied to crops can also increase fruit set and production, with high yield and efficiency. Yeast can prevent pathogenic bacteria from infecting crops and reduce the chance of crop disease." (all these benefits certainly sound like it would be beneficial and create a healthier plant, WIN WIN) I personally will continue to use yeast to fertilizer my crops going forward every 2 weeks for the remainder of this season and into next and plan to repeat it again next year. I am always experimenting and trying different things and passing along those results to people that follow the channel (some being experienced gardeners and some just starting out). With the prices of everything gardening related going through the roof, I do think this fertilizer is helpful to the plants and an affordable option. I used this method to encourage flowering and help set fruit. The experiment was a success in doing just that 🙂I'm very happy that it was, because now, I may still get a yield to store up for the winter.
