We play DayZ which is one of the best survival games of 2023. If you enjoy Rust , Tarkov , Deadside or other new survival games you will enjoy this one! One thing I have always hated about Dayz is the flagpole. I much prefer what some servers have adopted with plot poles. No way in a survival situation would you want to advertise where you live.

I always hated flag poles, cant hide a base virtually anywhere, the best is Rearmed having a small computer desk.

I'm currently experimenting without flagpole just interacting with your fences every week is supposed to stop the decay process. Been 3 or 4 weeks now still everything intact and no "come raid me" flag pole 😅

I only wish Dayz would be more PVE focused.. it’s a zombie survival game but it lacks zombies imo. + AI is broken. Maybe one day we’ll be able to fight huge hordes and defend our own self-made stone base from it, while still having great PVP like the actual.

As someone who lives in real life Chernarus (Czech Republic) i was actually shocked how accuarate this is, like the graphics with the locations etc. Im not gonna lie the whole video i was like "Woah, No way Dude!!! no way!!!!" @FreshSpawns whoever made this mod deserves a raise.

to be honest...I would love to see them do a thing where you make a blueprint (with square modules and border outlines...kinda like a spreadsheet)... And if you attach enough wooden logs to make the thing you have in the blueprint...it will construct perfect walls for you. I'm not sure if I want all these newer guns. Obviously I don't know too much about them...but the game is set in 2013. The weapon choices should reflect that. We shouldn't be getting the latest and greatest military tech from 2024...because that didn't exist in 2013. What I would like to see as far as PVP goes...is again...more realism. I want mil adjustments...not by increments of 100 meters or whatever. You can have certain mil adjustments tell you the meters the thing is zeroed for...but yeah...more zeroing options... I want it so that you can combine gun cleaning kits and certain weapons (which consumes the weapon)...to create a specialized gun cleaning kit that repairs it back another copy of the same gun to pristine. I want First Focal Plane scopes...TMR style where the mil adjustments actually change in size when you zoom in more or zoom out more...reflecting where the bullet will land no matter no far you are currently zoomed in. I want to see wind...I want to see the coriolis effect on bullets if possible. I want to see less engraved Kolts...but I wish there were more "gucci'd out" choices...like a Golden KAM or Golden KA74...or an engraved CR75. And limit these 1 per map. I understand there is a mod for better suppressors...but I want worse suppressors. They aren't as quiet as you think in real life. And as a tradeoff...I want there to be much more durability on the suppressor than now. Some suppressors will outlast the gun in real life...again...I like realism. Also suppressed M4/KAM/KA74/LAR/DMR/VSD shots should be heard up to like 800M~1KM away. I think thats like 4X the current distance? Also...improvised suppressors should be oil filters. Duct Tape on a plastic bottle ain't gonna cut it. Which also means that guns like the LAR/DMR/FAMAS/M70/CR550 should be getting a series of legit projectile matching suppressors. Also a class of LMGs with built in bipods could be nice...just make sure...again...theres only 1 on the map. Also make it very slow and heavy to move with...like carrying a wooden crate...but if they deploy the bipod...its game over...

Bases are a blight on DayZ. Full loot PVP where you lose everything and start with nothing is what makes DayZ unique and has kept it going strong for such a long time. If the future of DayZ was bases it would be a terrible development and not even worth doing. There is one game like DayZ and infinite base games where you can just run to your base and be full geared again. This is obviously a server set up to mimic DayZ but hopefully if they ever move it over they don't even include base building.

So far, Dayz 2 looks like it will be a purely mod effort in Reforger. No binding statement from Bohemia, rather it seems that the project has been stopped. I think they are working on Arma 4 now maybe then we could theoretically see a Dayz sequel on the new engine but this could take years. Dayz mod for Arma 2 (2009), was created in 2013, in 2018 officially released the game itself after early access. We will probably see STALKER 2 sooner than Dayz 2. 😴

visually the environments look like a step up from the games before, I canot help but feel like that current DayZ looks still a lot like operation flashpoint from 2001, still evniromently wise but apart from that it still is a work in progress, like I can see this in the future becoming a succesor but still a lot has to be done.

I have an idea for a snake base on the western shore of the SE island in Namalsk. It's 4 or 5 chambers with a garage door on both ends, jutting into the water. The water side garage door is for fishing and to swim across the strait if necessary.

Reforger lacks almost everything from DayZ. It is running on upgraded engine but the game mode feature is empty, its literally walking simulator like arma2 dayz

i think once they fix the character animations a bit more, ill be on board. they still look very very simplistic when compared to original dayz, but im holding out for them to put more detail into things. graphically it's very nice, i just hope the rest can come around.

Apparently most modders have stopped modding A.I untill Bohemia Interactive is done tweaking the A.I The problem for the modders is that with every A.I update, their progress get's lost and they have to rewrite it again etc. Apparently it's not possible for them to just simply update it.
