Personally when i saw the nanahoshi part at 11:00 i thought it was supposed be from Rudys pov symbolizing how they both reveal they are from Earth to eachother and draw parallels to eachothers situations.

I'm just glad that they spoiled minimal things about Roxy overall. I was kinda expecting them to spoil or at least strongly hint at most of the stuff they did hint at but the fact that SPOILER BELOW they completely left out Roxy when they showed Rudy reuniting with Sylphy, Aisha and Norn at the end really made me happy. Roxy actually coming back home with Rudy and becoming an actual part of the family really wasn't spoiled by this OP at all. The same can be said about Zenith's overall fate/condition. Those two things are the hardest hitting storybeats in this part of the story imo since the Paul thing is HEAVILY telegraphed by the story itself. It hurts but it's not the fact that it's a surprise that it hurts, it hurts because of everything surrounding it and how it happens.

I had a feeling that there would be family deaths in the future. So the picture didin't really shock me. Half expected something alike. Zeniths fate came out of nowhere though. I was like. Dude there is no way. And then we have the whole Roxy and family meeting stuff. Dang dude. WHat an impactful volume though. Really emotional ending.

Honestly a lot of anime openings do similar cheeky spoiling of the overall plot. If any, the opening for S2 part one also indicated the plot direction in a subtle way, in most cases anime only won't fully grasp what is actually going on. It's not like the anime never mentioned that Rudeus has "finding his mother" in mind, so the fact that he went to meet up with Paul isn't even a surprise to anime onlys. It's the details and how things actually played out that makes a difference, huge plot points were really subtly hinted and anime onlys won't easily grasp the specific case. That being said, I guess a lot of Mushoku Tensei fans were just used of S1 not having an actual intro animation that spoils everything....

Of course. It only directly spoils direction. Before the show gets to the point that rudeus is conflicted about going to the begaritt continent, anime onlies will know that the OP shows him go. Outside of that: 1.Anime onlies don't know the fate of Zenith, this shows it. 2.They don't know Aisha and Norn go to rudeus (unless they seen previous key art or pvs mind you). 3.And they don't know Sylphie gets pregnant. The rest is all too vague to grasp.

@@otakuspirit You know, funny enough until you mentioned it in the video, I didn't even realize that one frame of Sylphie putting her hand on her belly was hinting her becoming pregnant, despite me fully read the source material before. And yeah, the PVs and key art has shown his sisters joining the newly married couple so I didn't really consider that huge spoilers. Though, we who read the LNs all know that certain big stuff that will actually happen were very cheeky and subtly hinted in the new OP, to the point that smart anime viewers could very possibly grasp some stuff that they shouldn't know just by analyzing how the opening plays out, is likely some of the more concerning part of some viewers. But yeah a lot of anime actually does this in their openings anyways.

I think so. I kinda like that they made Rudeus just a bit smaller than Paul still though since Rudeus still has some growing left to do. If he was already as tall as Paul then he wouldn't really change much anymore visually in his 15-20th years. I think you can also just say that Rudeus means "roughly" as tall, as in, they are in the same ballpark now and can look each other in the eyes.

Never really understood the whole "the op spoils everything." Thing. As an anime only I have no context I'm just like woah cool I guess they are going to do that at some point. Without context it's not really spoiling anything. Videos like this are different, but I too often see people complaining about this and they end up spoiling it themselves because the anime only didn't know or understand the context till they brought it up. In one piece for example there was a traitor and well the op kinda give it away but only in a way that you would know it if you already knew. Those people complained about it and spoiled the anime only people.

Rudy is in the position he’s “father” was in the beguining and maybe is trying to emulate some aspects. Besides that, it is implied they will begin the journey to find his mom (side by side)

When I'm an anime only watcher (not in this case for Mushoku) I ALWAYS skip the OP because of how spoil-filled they are. I can't remember what anime it was a long time ago, but the OP spoiled so much it was a "why should I even keep watching now?" levels of bad. It removed all mystery and you could actively guess how every scenario they teased at was going to go because of it.

Ok so this is a hindsight comment from a hopeful fan: Paul gets to hook up with Aisha and Zenith, because he dies so young and basically did his part, so the hero can be born (eventually). I know it's a stretch and only the author can say but it gives Paul's death a purpose in a way... This is just a hypothesis

Paul could have saved Zenith for some other way with other adventurers, with more time spent on rescuing Zenith but they would all be lived. That’s why Hitogami said “you will regret”, if Rudy didn’t go Rudy won’t have chance to marry Roxy, nor Lara or Lily will be born, and that’s what hitogami wanted.

This OP is so bad, one of the strongest points of season 1 was the lack of traditional OP visuals, and music that actually fit the shows theme. Season 2 dropped from an A+ to a B- because of this for me, takes me out of the story.
