I heard something interesting years ago and I've always followed that rule. if you are ever going to use a load-bearing carabiner make sure every carabiner you carry is load-bearing.you never can tell when you're going to be in a rescue situation that turns complex and you use far more carabiners than you originally thought you'd need.
@ephraimnowak4 жыл бұрын
That's a great suggestion, especially if you're working in the dark, or need to have someone else fetch your gear. Everything is just so much simpler if they're all load-bearing.

Looks good. I like your video. For the low weight I'dd toss a couple bics into a couple freezer bags. I carry flint and steel and stuff too, but it's hard to beat the simplicity and reliability of a bic lighter.

Very well thought out I would challenge you that you don’t need that many pairs of gloves Elastic bands degrade over time. Look for silicone bands. Great video.

Thank you! I'm glad you found the video useful. I carry a Leatherman and SOG Seal Pup on my belt. My flashlight is typically attached to my chest radio harness.

@@toebeans6568 You only carry what your trained for. A SAR team will typically have that as part of their group gear carried by the team field medic.

flashlight?
@ephraimnowak6 жыл бұрын
That's a good question! I keep a Petzl MYO headlamp and spare batteries in my pack, but also carry a Fenix PD35 on my helmet as well as a Fenix E20 in my radio chest harness.

@@ephraimnowak i love headlamps but sometimes its easier to use a handheld flashlight. i use laser genetics nd-5 flashlight. it was built for sar too military specs and it shines 3 miles but it is very small. runs on 2 cr123a.

I’m guessing you need a better knife. Not sure about the one you showed but, as a knife guy, it doesn’t look legit. Get an esee or something.
