I've been new to golf, approx 1,5 months. Hitting with 9 130 and if i need i can go for 150m too. Been using Q club. hitting pars boogeys, double boogeys in short amount of time. What i want to say, Bryson is 100% right with one lenght irons, it works. I only follow him on KZbin as everything in this sport is industry driven by 4 companies. Will buy his gear 100% as soon as it comes out. Believe this guy, he is really good at trying to understand physics and thinking out of the box. Go Bryson!

I don’t get what people don’t understand about his lofts, higher ball speed means more spin, more spin, means it goes a little less far, and can get messed up in the wind

Because some people are so stuck in the box of “tradition” Bobby Jones is the one who first made a full set of clubs to be bought all irons equal length with steel shafts. Nobody bought them because the damn shafts were steel and not at the time traditional hickory shafts. So they painted the steel shafts to look like hickory and sold the hell outta them. Also the first clubs to be sold at a consistent loft number system.
@connorlang1212 ай бұрын
@@carterrosati5282 for me, I understand that he hits harder than most people. I just think he should be naming the club as more accurate to the loft. He said his pitching wedge is 40 degrees. I think he should keep that club and just call it a 9 iron. He already spins it at 9000 rpm’s. Keep the same clubs, name each one one club stronger.

Are we forgetting, in this back and forth, that Bryson is probably using technique to hit his wedges lower? Hogan said he wanted to hit his long irons high, and his wedges low.

So if he had a 9 iron that was a normal loft he wouldn't be able to control it because of spin? But he has a 40 degree pitching wedge (9 iron loft) that he controls just fine... bro is just making up problems in his head. He doesn't even loft jack, he just places the wrong number on each iron. Call your pitching wedge (40 degrees) your 9 iron and call your 45 your pitching wedge. Do that with every club and all of a sudden you have a normal set up.
@Jeebizz1013 ай бұрын
He should just name them all by their degree rather than a number, kinda quirky but so is he so it'd work

I guessing it’s just a mental thing for him

He said he over spins it and has trouble hitting the ball to high up, like past the height of trees, into the wind, which block wind. The top comment guy misheard this too.
@drewp.weiner24732 ай бұрын
40 is an 8 and 45 is a 9, pw is 48-49
@connorlang1212 ай бұрын
@@JJsw2 No. I understand that too much spin makes it hard to control ball flight. I’m just saying that this issue doesn’t exist. By his logic he wouldn’t be able to control a P Wedge that is 45 degrees, but he has a 45 degree wedge that he hits great. All I’m saying is that he should rename his existing clubs to be more consistent with standard lofts. I’m not saying he needs to add or take away loft from his clubs.

Saying one length has not caught on because of the industry is BS. I want my 9 iron shorter than my 5 as does 99% of golfers
@jarrettchristensen_music3 ай бұрын
I would consider having a 4 through a 7 the same length but 7 iron length short irons would take way to long to get used to.
@Jeebizz1013 ай бұрын
Yeh but also the vast majority of humans are sheeps, when putters started changing everyone was saying its weird and wont work, aimpoint was the same deal and now half the tour is using it, 60 degree wedge was considered ridiculous decades ago, players chasing distance years ago were considered crazy before there were stats to prove it was a better way. Im not saying we all should switch to one length irons, everyone should do whatever they want, but we need dudes like Bryson to break the water so the other 99% can jump after, or else we dont get innovation cause we are scared of change.
@jimmythorpe653 ай бұрын
I don’t buy his explanation! His 40* “pitching wedge” is a strong lifted 9 iron in the industry! Why doesn’t he just call it his 9 iron. Like wise for his 5 iron that is like a strong lofted 2 iron and 5 wood that has the loft of a 3 wood etc. It’s not about how much he spins it, simply about what he calls his clubs. I don’t call my driving iron a 5 iron
@James__1233 ай бұрын
He has a launch and spin window that he's looking for. For example a traditional lofted 7i (34*), ideally you have 7000 rpm spin and 17* launch. I guess he adds loft at impact and struggles with too much spin, so he has lower lofted irons that still hit that window.
@spateeight3 ай бұрын
It’s for his vanity. He loves to say he’s hitting 7 iron x yards. Dumb people lap up his explanation about spin rates even though it makes no sense considering the 4 wedges he carries.
@James__1233 ай бұрын
@@spateeight why do the wedges matter? It literally is all about launch and spin.
@spateeight3 ай бұрын
@@James__123 because he claims that a traditional loft PW would spin too much for him to be able to control. He plays a traditional lofted PW though. It’s his 45 degree. Writing PW on that club doesn’t miraculously alter the performance.
@James__1233 ай бұрын
@@spateeight he has 5 degrees of gapping between the irons compared to 3 degrees. At some point they will converge it's not that hard to comprehend.
@spateeight3 ай бұрын
I don’t care what he calls his clubs but he needs to give up on the stupid pseudo science explanation. “If I had a normal lofted PW I wouldn’t be able to control it”. How do you control the 45* wedge that is the same length as your PW then?
