One thing about the bag. GPS won't help if xflare or EMP happens. Always have map and compass. Don't rely on technology too much. Chances are that most technology won't be available in these situations. Other than that great bag. I will post my video response shortly. Bug out bag for 20-40 dollars. Everything from china mart or dollar store. Love your post. Keep up the great work.

No problem pervisirani!! The bag itself is very durable and is pretty water resistant in a light drizzle or rain, but your contents will eventually get wet in a downpour or a dunking. I would buy some type of waterproof bag (military surplus or Aloksak) to make 100% sure everything inside stays dry. Have fun with the new pack!

One of the best ones I've seen. It's a true bob or ghb . Some of these goofs have camping bags and not shtf items. I don't see a purpose for the stove or jacket and pants. Your mre's or food source shouldn't need a stove. Your clothing should already be on your body. If your hot then shed it and put in your bob. Id add some bank line and 550 cord as well. A tarp will also fit easily. I like the shovel, an e-tool is too big and I need to add one of those shovels. Good job Stay tuned for my vid

We enjoy watching your videos and your dad rocks! We saw your "got lost vid" We should get together for a get lost scene. I got raised without a GPS and without a compass! You want to get by with the mountains, the sun, the moon and the stars? The farthest we got lost/away from our vehicle has been 100 yards give or take 10 yards. Not bad huh? Let me know bro & we go out & get lost and enjoy the great out of doors.

I suggest adding a few pairs of socks. In any kind of bug out or even just camping weekend you will be hiking a lot thus having dry socks is a must. Also a tarp if it isnt included already.

I agree,in a bug out situation you need to have things that are useful for you to sustain yourself for a good lenth of time.Now if you are doing it just for fun and just getting away from it all for a minute than it'd be one thing but if you're bugging out an emergecy you don't need dead wait.

Good bag man. It actually gave me some pointers on things to add to mine. I'd suggest adding some babywipes or wetones so you can keep your face, hands, feet, crotch and armpits clean. Toothbrush and paste, some camping TP, and a camelbak bladder. Also an item I found really handy when tornadoes hit us back in April was a solar powered radio with a hand crank so you know what's going on around you. Great video though and some good suggestions. Keep it up man!!!
@gwynn1975

no problem.. The small loops are actually sewn in (not elastic) to attach additional pouches or accessories.. They are called PALS and/or MOLLE straps.. You can attach caribiners, and any of the other Maxpedition small pouches using their TacTies.. The shovel and tarp are something that I found at WalMart so I'm not sure of the brand

One quick piece of advice. I believe there was a recall on that Gerber machete because peoples hands were slipping and severely cutting the webbing of their thumbs down to the bone. Might want to check out another machete or see if you can get the newer model with a hand guard. Good video by the way!

Add a titanium spork with the mess kit, very useful little tool. Get one with a serrated edge so that you can also use it to cut the food.

The map/compass holder has a waterproof bag inside of it to keep your map in. It is a little bulky, but as long as you have it attached to the PALS webbing you won't notice it too much.. The Vulture II is a little big for a day hike.. Check out the Falcon II for a good size for day hikes.. A knife on the shoulder strap is okay, but can be bothersome after awhile.. Some peopel will tell you that it's dangerous, but if it's in a good sheath then I wouldn't worry about it

@spicecrop You forget that some people actually use their bags. I have used my bag for over 7 years now. I spend a lot of time in the outdoors and my bag (BOB) goes with me every time. I agree that 72 hour may not be enough but it is not really easy to pack 2 weeks of supplies on your back. I would suggest learning the skills necessary to hunt or gather the food needed.

Good bag! I have an old GI frame pack that i use. its a bit heavy but I can handle it. used it in Big Bend Tx on a long hike(22mi). I have, for the most part, the same set up. I have a sleeping bag tho instead of the the mat and blanket. If it cold it will keep me warm @ 0 but if it hot, i can just sleep on top of it for the padding. For my wife, she has the same setup as me but I gave her my lighter frame pack and a lighter sleeping bag. kids have backpacks with lite stuff like clothes(camo).
@JakeOlantern100
@JakeOlantern100 13 жыл бұрын
Maybe you should consider putting the collapsable fishing kit inside the pack or inside a bag strapped on the pack, because things hanging off the side of your pack tend to snag on branches, vines etc. although your AO looks like it isn't that dense but just something to think about.

Really informative and useful! However, I might cover the red mat with camo or an olive drab bag so you can be fully camoflauged if needed.

Thanks, great video. One concern that I have about the Maxpedition bags is that they look too tactical and get in the way way of the "gray man" concept, that is, just blend into the crowd. If you look too prepared, you become a target. One item that seems to be missing from everyone's bug out bag is cigarettes. I don't smoke but having a coupe of packs in your bag could come in handy as barter if things get bad.

looks good, i'd have to see EVERYTHING before i can start analizing stuff. I apply the 'line gear' method to my bug out gear, aswell with my fighting gear. ie. 1st is EDC, 2nd is get home bag(BOB), 3rd is extinded stay gear that is at home. If i can i want to get home and load up as much as i can. if not the GHB will do but it limits me to just surviving.

Very nice. Consider covering the red sleeping pad with something - it's kind of loud if you know what I mean. Also consider dehydrated meals for less weight but lots of calories. Choose the meals that have 300+ calories per serving. I carry 8,000 calories and it probably only adds 6-7 lbs of weight - it'll get me far! A jar of peanut butter (plastic) is never a bad idea for an additional, quick boost.

@stylus880 I agree my friend.. But USELESS camping gear? None of it is useless. I'd love to boil a cup of water on my stove in the first couple of days when it may not be a very good idea to have a fire.. (the smoke and smell) As a Prior Infantry Grunt myself, I have found that the only reason to have a map and compass is to find someplace that you don't know where it is. I brought up the entire US, is you don't know where you'll end up in a Bug Out. Thanks for watching. Take care

Good video. I think you should also carry more food just in case. I would also carry a small axe and some zipties in case you need to make a small shelter, a tarp and tube tent wouldn't go amiss either, 550 paracord too. Other than that, I like your bugout contents a lot.

@NikLagua well a durable tent is always great to have but if your trying to go lightweight you can make do with a tarp or even go to a hardware store and buy a few plastic drop cloths. i keep a few 12 x 20 and 9 x 12 drop cloths cause theyre very light and compact when unopened, but you did say this is for possible long-term survival so a good tent would be your best bet. same goes for a bivy, there are some great ones out there but i'd want something extra if im bugging out for a week or more

@IKSDoomie If you run to a bug out location, what good is a map going to do you if you're on the run?
