Thanks for the great video, I ordered the umbrella. I have recently moved from a GH5 to an A7iii. I had an issue with bracketed shots not aligning perfectly and requiring photoshop to align them. I have now discovered the issue is "steady shot". I have now turned it off and the bracketed shots are perfectly aligned.

I just made a San Jose-Oakland round-trip to pick up a 3046 I found on Craigslist: it came with two heads, since the seller had mounted a #234 monopod head atop the #3063 fluid head. They're scarcer and more expensive these days. I have several other tripods--a couple of tabletop tripods, a couple of carbon fiber travel tripods, even an original, Marchioni Bros. Tiltall--but I've been thinking of a geared center column for precision work. I'll be swapping the fluid head for a geared unit.

Hi Mr. Baum, I’m thinking seriously about transitioning to mirrorless. I was intrigued by your videos where you raved about the a6000 & 12 mm prime combination. I was thinking about pairing a Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8 to a A7ii for a full frame take on your ever-focused real estate camera. However, the added flexibility of the Sony 16-35 f/4 makes me second guess this idea. I’d love to hear your thoughts about this bubble I’m on. Also, Is the 18mm on FF wide enough for most situations in RE?
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
I suggest the a7III as it’s far superior to a7II I also suggest the 16-35 GM if you can afford it. Far superior lens.
@dronevantages-aerialimager29294 жыл бұрын
Rich Baum - thanks for taking the time!
@loudandclearmedia4 жыл бұрын
@@RichBaum having both the 16-35GM and Batis 18, I disagree. Yes, the zoom is much more versatile, but the Batis is a REALLY nice, light, sharp, contrasty lens with a cool OLED distance scale on the top of it. Definitely better, and more well corrected, than the GM at 18mm.

Hey! Great video, a lot of information. One question regarding that issue with the white balance and the Godox xPro Trigger (or your Flashpoint version). I heard from you here and other people that they just buy a version for another camera brand because it is missing the pin connector that causes this problem. So, my question is, can I instead of buying a new one for another brand, just modify the one I have? Like braking the pin connector that is missing in the other brands version? Anyway, it is a good advice to have 2 triggers, so I can get a second one for Nikon, and keep the other one as a back up one. But it would be great if I can modify it. Thanks!

Rich, thanks so much for all the work you put into these videos. I am thinking of upgrading to the ad200's from my Yongnuo's. If you aren't using the CamRanger to trigger your shutter any longer, how are you accomplishing that? I am wondering if using the X1T in the hot shoe, with my RF603 from Yongnuo on top connected to the Canon, would trigger the shutter and the combination of ad200's and yongnuos?
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
I tether with the Sony Imaging Edge App and built in WiFi.. For you as your Canon I suggest the Camranger, much better for Canon & Nikon than Sony.. And I hope you will use my Adorama Link if you buy an eVolv 200 (same as the ad200 but better warentee)

Rich, as always a great informative video, thanks for sharing. Follow up question for you on the XProN trigger, or adorama equivalent, on a Sony. I have noticed using the XProS trigger an issue with the white balance being warmer then it should be, which is annoying and takes time to post correct or create a custm WB setting w/i my Sony bodies. Based on what you use the XProN version, does that eliminate the problem from what you see? I know Nathan Cool talks about using a dead trigger or shoe for Nikon, but have not been able to make that approach work on my Sony. If the xProN trigger works I would just swap out my current triggers and save me some post production editing time. If you're not sure I'll just pick up the XProN and do a comparison and let you know what I find. Thanks again Rich!
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
Rob, yes my solution is to use a Nikon trigger so the camera doesn't know there is a trigger.. and it does solve the issue about 80% of the time but every now and then I get a really warm exposure.. on a shoot yesterday I think I only got 2 out of 100 frames..
@loudandclearmedia4 жыл бұрын
@@RichBaum That's what I do too, but with a Canon trigger on my Sony bodies. Typically I'll still hit the auto white balance in LR on my flash layer, but it does get closer than the Sony/Godox triggers.

@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
I suggest the eVolv 200 and a Streaklight 360.. the 400 is really heavy and I would choose the 600 over the 400 any day. I have both and the 400 stays homer and the 600 stays in my car, but if I need it I got it.
@Garbid4 жыл бұрын
@@RichBaum Thank you! Ad600 and ad200
@RichBaum4 жыл бұрын
Here’s the deal for me. I love my ad600 because it was really cheap and though it’s big and heavy it’s there when I need it. The 400 is a fantastic light but it’s a lot of $$ and also it has lots of features like TTL but for RE we don’t need TTL so why spend extra $200-$300 for that? Now if you plan to use it in the studio that’s a different thing. I still say my 360 is my favorite light. Cheap flexible and really powerful. Sure it has an external battery but that’s not a big deal.
