Injury management is almost as important to a fighter as pad work. Any videos on how you manage injuries (taping, wrapping etc) would be very welcome.

Hey with you issues with your shin pads I hear that Onx stuff is amazing. I have a pair of their lace up gloves and there are absolutely amazing hand support a knuckle support. But I hear their shin pads have fixed many of the problems often do such as them sliding down and to the side. There often out of stock but I think there back in stock. Big fun keep up the good work brotha.

yoo strongly recommend the Rival Rs11v for 16-oz glove. I had a wrist injury and was considering the hayabusa T3's that you showed - tried every glove imaginable and the rivals blow the hayabusas out of the water in terms of wrist support

What do you think is the right size of gloves for sparring for big guys? I personally spar with 12 oz gloves and I weigh 190 lbs, but personally we never go hard, we never do hard sparring. We do 50% most of the times. Do yoy think 12 oz is good or should I get bigger gloves? I was thibking about 14 oz gloves, but I personally feel fine with 12 oz.
@BumleyGames3 жыл бұрын
its not about whether you feel fine its about ensuring the safety of your training partners. I would say wear whatever size gloves everyone else in your gym uses, I used to spar very lightly in 10oz because thats what we all used and we knew how much power was responsible. If everyone in your gym is using 16oz and you're using 12oz thats kind of a dick move
@francescogenovese8903 жыл бұрын
@@BumleyGames I mean "I feel fine" in the sense that I feel comfortable wearing them and I can spar safely too. Actually most of the guys at my gym use 10 oz gloves, and often they go a little too hard, even more experienced guys than me, they all use 10 oz, they don't really worry about glove size. And I personally think it shouldn't be that much of a concern, as long as you can control yourself, it can also help you understand how to control the pace of a fight, go faster or slow down depending on the situation. Yes, sparring with 10 oz gloves is not ideal, maybe not even 12 oz, but I personally feel I can spar safely and effectively with 12 oz. But for the sake of safety I think I'll switch to 14 oz. I have quite big hands, so I think 14 oz would be the perfect size for me, 12 oz feels a bit tight on my knuckles
@denissorn3 жыл бұрын
@@BumleyGames I'm not even sure 16oz provides protection in the context of punching and hard sparing. It's heavier (mass x speed carries more lol 'padded' momentum. ). For protection/shell it's a different story. Anyhow I know quite a few ppl who have stopped using 16oz for this reason, and claimed it's worse when they get hit (hard) with 16oz. Maybe it could be a weight class thing?
@GabrielVargaOfficial3 жыл бұрын
I does often depend on the brand of glove. I usually say 16oz for sparring...but I have some 12oz that protect myself and sparring partner MORE than the average 16oz. But some people get offended by small gloves so I just use big ones.
@Patrick-ep3il3 жыл бұрын
@@denissorn while the added mass could increase force you have to take into account the added padding and fluff, and the fact that you punch slower in bigger gloves. It just dependes on the glove really because some are harder than others. But 16 oz is a good standard.

Interested to hear what peoples opinions are about wearing kneepads for muay thai sparring?? I dont think I've ever seen any footage where pro muay thai fighters are wearing kneepads but it seems to me that it could be a good idea? I've never worn kneepads but maybe I should? Maybe it would give me the confidence to throw more knees in sparring without being afraid of hurting my partners
