For Chief, I would suggest actually using the hospital's blanket (free!!) that she'll be put in right away so that you won't be upset if your dog gets it dirty/ripped etc when getting acclimated to your baby's smells. Then you can use your pretty blankets in the hospital and afterwards without worrying about dog hair, etc on it :)

My first born child came 3 weeks early. I also had to travel an hour to the hospital I grabbed one change of clothes and a hair tie for me. I did just fine with just those few things. Then my Mom did a Target run for me lol

If you feel comfortable with it I’d love to hear your plans for when family comes to visit. Currently trying to plan that out and I just can’t figure out how to make it to where feelings don’t get hurt and it’s not awkward.

savannah vick same here!! I don’t want to have friends at the hospital and I really just want to have family the day after so me, baby and hubby can bond for the first 24 hours and have that special time just us. I’m curious what other people think.

I wish people understood the importance of allowing the parents and baby to rest. It great to see the new addition but the parents are going to be extremely exhausted. I always recommend waiting at least a week before visiting.

Elli Remi I agree! We aren’t letting anyone in the hospital to see us and baby except my mom since I want her there for the birth anyway. But I don’t want anyone else coming to see us until we’re home and settled for a couple days at least

girl you are prepared for it all.. with my second (i’m 36+4) and i just found bringing less is better for us. we try to keep all of ours and babies stuff in one bag. especially for baby since they get checked so often. every mama and baby is different, good luck on your labor and delivery.. hopefully i will be soon after 🤞🏻

Jess, I am so glad you are asking visitors to not kiss baby girl. Aside from illnesses, there have been a lot of upsetting stories about people that have kissed babies when they've had cold sores/herpes, especially when she hasn't built up her immune system yet. I don't say this to scare, but to inform. I can't wait to see pictures of your little family.

Hi Jess, you look amazing ❣️❣️. I absolutely love the zip locker bag . I do that too with packing. With my kids , when traveling, I put one outfit in each zip locker bag with socks, underwear and everything needed for the day . It keeps things very organized.

As a former teacher...yes, we are always prepared. You just may need it all but if you dont...no big deal. For my 3rd child we ended up staying in the hospital for extra days because I had an infection. So, you never know. Looking forward to the big event! Best wishes.

Hi, if you are bleeding a good amount it is best to get some depends to use with the overnight pads....helps so much! Just an FYI! My daughter had my grand baby and she had everyone have the whooping cough booster before they could visit. It is tough today To know what to do...

I was not expecting a 6 day hospital stay and ran out of clean clothes and underwear on day 3.. over packing is totally okay! I had bleeding iron issues

I had to stay one extra night with my first because I was anemic & lost alot of blood. Second baby we were begging to go home before it had even been 24 hrs because everything went so smooth!

I had en emergency c section and was very anemic too I lost way to much blood. Thay was my first baby my second baby was a breeze we still had to stay 4 days. I'm hoping we can go on home early with our baby in may

Holy moly! You packed soooo much! & I thought I overpacked. You are gonna be so surprised with how little you use, especially the toilet paper. You won’t be using toilet paper at all lol. All you need is that perk bottle. Can’t wait to see the video of what you actually used, I can almost bet it will be a quarter of what you packed. Although I don’t blame you, rather safe than sorry. For a first time mom, it makes sense though. I was pretty shocked with how little we used lol

You will probably get a cup from the hospital to drink out of if you get thirsty after you have the baby. They won't let you drink or eat while in labor. They will only let you have ice chips until you have your baby. Yes nursing pillow is the best to take to hold baby girl up as you feed her. When the baby comes out yes you will be all about your baby from that day on...it's amazing to see your own baby for the first time.

MegaStargirl22 not necessarily. With my first we couldn’t eat or drink anything, but that was 10 years ago. I just had my second 9 days ago and we were allowed to drink water and eat snacks. Every hospital has a different policy :)

We were fostering. I wish we could have adopted her!! Even in her current situation today, we would not be able to at this time.
