WHAT'S IN MY HOSPITAL BAG?!

I just gave birth to my baby 3 weeks ago and I literally packed NOTHING! lol I was fortunate that they did supply just about everything that I needed and the only thing I brought was my going home outfit and my daughter's going home outfit. They had towels, showering kit, mesh underwear, pads and things needed for postpartum care. They even gave me a diaper bag with diapers and wipes, breastfeeding tools for my breast pump and bottles. It truly was a blessing because I didn't have the means to get any of these things prior and went through a tough situation while being pregnant

1. Don't worry what anybody else thinks about the amount you are taking. *You* are the one pushing a baby out, you want to be comfortable! 2. People take towels because hospital towels are considerably smaller and thinner than regular towels. Also, they aren't as soft as they don't use softener on them. -HOWEVER- you should be able to ask for as many towels as you need/want! (I have spent a LOT of time in the hospital and there was never an issue with towels...just ask for extra!) 3. You may want to keep that hoodie in your duffle... It can feel like it's freezing in the hospital, when infact it's not, it just you... due to hormones, labor, pain, etc. 4. Make sure you have a favorite chapstick and hand lotion! 5. Just a heads up, they may not let you use your extension cord...they aren't normally allowed in hospitals. But certainly take it incase, I always do!! ;) 6. Maybe pack some quarters for vending machines. And cash for the cafeteria or next door foodie. Inevitable we rush out the door without any cash or change, and we're stuck! OR... 7. Pack some snacks for Chad.

I'm just gonna go ahead and judge ya...that big bag is over the top! LOL! I love it though...you're not missing anything. One thing I would suggest is to boil any pacifiers you will be using before putting them in baby's mouth. I might be old school but those pacifiers are not sterile and were handled by many people before being put in the packages. Just a thought. I look forward to baby girl's debut!

Here are my suggestions.. 1. Slippers/house shoes 2. Water bottle 3. Baby book (if you have one) 4. Heating pad (for cramps) 5. For ceej and Chad - bring plain white shirts so that when the doctors are getting the baby's footprint you can also have them put it onto shirts for your guys! My husband did this and loved it- plus it made him feel more involved in the process.

Be sure to download your playlist just in case the Wi-Fi at the hospital blocks Spotify. I was hospitalized at 24 weeks and stayed for 2 weeks before they delivered my son. All streaming sites were blocked on their Wi-Fi except for KZbin. Love this video btw, because I just realized I need to start planning my bags for when my son leaves the NICU in a few months! So excited to meet your little girl!

So excited for her arrival! For your purse items, you could put all the items you want to take to the hospital in the "Hustle" pouch and keep the pouch in your purse. That way you can just pull the pouch and go when you are in labor. Hope you guys are enjoying your break!

Maybe go ahead and put the things you want in your "hustle" bag. Then just stick the whole hustle bag into your purse. That way when you're ready for it you just grab it out without worrying if you left something behind. Anytime I switch purses seems that I forget something.

Gabe that bag is huge lol and the thing with having more than enough (because the hospital will probably give you things too) is that you'll have to worry about getting/packing all that back along with bringing your newborn home. You don't need the nursing pads (your milk takes days to come in and your colostrum shouldn't leak), Towel (they should definitely have one for you and hopefully you won't be staying that long), no need for more burping clothes (she shouldn't be spitting up her first few days😊). Bring more snacks!! Just so your hubby doesn't have to go out as much when you're hungry outside of the hospital meals. So happy for you guys!!

niecy.p great advice. I hope she would condense a bit. Unless they have family helping, Chad, Sr will go nuts packing all that up and getting it out to the car when they are discharged. Less is best. Extra clothing, your own preferred maxi pads, (under garments) and boiling those pacifiers and unpackaging those socks. 👍🏾

Make sure to tell the hospital you want your placenta. The cooler looks really small, and the hospital will accommodate and give you something bigger (if needed). They placed mine in a sterile bag, and we kept it in a cooler until it was picked up. Also our hospital provided all sorts of toiletries, pads, underwear, baby items and towels, everything was generic (minus the baby items). I took personal items for comfort, but nothing bathroom or feminine related. Good luck and have a safe delivery.

I had 3 of my c-sections at the same hospital. The hospital staff were AHHHHMAZING with supplies. The towels were plush and full sized. Make sure they give you a band for your stomach... it’s a LIFESAVER! You overpacked...but that’s great! The more, the better! Ask for the hospital’s supplies first before using your own.

I have Chrohns and a week immune system and I’m always in the hospital and the hospital towels are like over sized hand towels and they are rough. But I would suggest just bring a soft hand towel for drying sensitive areas.

I just had a baby last year and had a C-section so I was in the hospital for 3 days and all your going to need is a going home outfit for you and baby. Everything else the hospital is going to give you. My advice is to utilize all the hospital stuff and keep your good stuff at home. You will be on pain meds after the C-section if you have one. You wont be using all that stuff like underwear, socks, toiletries, etc. Extra stuff is just going to bog you down and in the way. Trust me on that.

I remember packing everything for me and my son into one large bag that had many compartments,including towel and left room for things the hospital would give me. They provided pads,towels,nipple cream,lotion,hospital socks,toiletries including comb(not for natural hair),etc. I went home with 2 extra bags,one for baby,one for me. Some were care items for me and him. Extra diapers, Wash clothes,receiving blankets and a few other things. For myself, a sitz bath,a manual breast pump(coupon and info to get the electronic parts),breast feeding bottles and the cold storage bag for it and some other Personal Care items. Living in the suburbs has its perks. I love your bag for your baby it's nice and easy to carry in case you're going around. I'm excited to see your daughter. God bless,have a safe delivery.

Heya Gabe, although the hospital towels are not the softest or plush there are a lot of fluids going on after birth and I would say it’s better to soil the hospitals than you own. I did bring my own mesh loofa to soap up with & a liquid soap and my own face towel. Other than that they pretty much give you everything else but it doesn’t hurt to have a small stash of your own stuff so you are in no way over packed! Good luck, praying for a safe delivery.

Hey Gabe. I'm a longtime follower (since the Savannah days). I just want to say 1 thing. When my little sister was a baby we would put the little cute head band things on her head. The doctor advised us not to even though hers was loose. He said imagine wearing a sock all day and your leg feels fine. However, when you take the sock off there is an imprint of the sock on your leg, that may be a little too snug for baby. In any case just wanted to pass that along. I'm praying for you all. With my first, I was packed like I was going on a vacation to a deserted island 😂 I had waaay too much stuff and used very little of it, infact it was a hassle bringing it back home. With my others ( had a baby 4 months ago) I packed only what I absoluetly needed. Going home outfits (me and baby) 2 receiving blankets( hospital doesnt let you take theirs home) baby blanket ( same one I used on all 4) maternity bra, travel sized toiletries, chapstick, mints, head scarf, cellphone with charger......I wouldnt recommend taking robes and pajamas because I did first time around and I ended up with all this blood stained dirty laundry to lug home and wash. Use the hospital gowns and blankets and save your stuff for home.....Love and light to you and baby, blessings on a happy healthy delivery 😘💞

I used the closed in sleeper with Lexi and she loved it as well. I'm sure the hospital will have bottles, but I didn't see the ones that you prefer just in case for some reason your milk doesn't come in right away. I know they provide formula as well, but you may want to bring the formula of your choice for Reagan.

Hi Gabe. I'm an RN. Hospitals generally provide towels but they are fairly small and not as soft as your own towel, so bring your towel. In terms of other stuff like pads, soap etc, I always recommend bring your own stuff. I've seen so many skin reactions to certain hospital products. Try the hospital stuff first and if it works keep using it but if you don't like it at least you have a backup. Your nurses will love you for only having one bag but then be annoyed because of all those charging cables and electronics. The only thing I would suggest you leave at home is the speaker and the thermometer.

As a mom of 3, Im pretty sure you're set to last a week Lol Just a suggestion as far as pads go, the hosp does provide stuff BUT I found bringing/using Depends worked best. So excited for yall!!

Don't forget the baby's coat. The zip up swaddle with the hood. I was in Indiana last January and it was cold. Also take more undershirts and burp cloths. After having four kids my bag started packing itself! Best of luck!

So I work in a hospital and I suggest you TAKE YOU OWN TOWELS!!!....if I ever have to be a pt I would bring my own because the things that they get used for you would not want to know

Anna Louis all of our linen gets sent out to be laundered so you don’t know that the same linens are coming back to you because we all get stocked from central supply and the units with geriatric patients get used to clean their incontinence

I am a nurse in a hospital, and they are now finding that c. diff spores live on laundered bedding and towels. I am bringing my own towels now lmao

Awesome! My daughter is 6 and I don’t remember everything but I did take my electronics, a robe, my own towels because the hospital ones are too small. I should have taken an extra pillow and a blanket. I had my daughter in summer and after delivery to my it was super cold in the hospital. I had to ask for additional blankets to feel warm. The pillows there were not that great. The hoodie you packed is a good idea. You seem to have everything else under control! Great job and good luck!

Great job Packing, however I believe you may need a cozy blanket for the baby, because the hospitals are really cold, and the congratulations to the Radar Family on your new bundle of joy!❤️
