Today we're doing a what's in my nappy bag video! I watched SO many what's in my nappy bag videos when I was pregnant and trying to figure out what I needed to buy and the perfect set-up for me. And now, a year later, here's my version of this video a year later to talk about the two nappy bags I use, how they work, and what's inside! 🛍️

Yay for setting boundaries and listening to how you feel and not making a video that would upset you even though that is what you had scheduled! And this isn't at all related to the video, but I love your nails - they're so colourful and the one-nail-different-on-each-hand gives such a fun, playful vibe. (Also, I feel like I hadn't seen the Uniqlo bag until I saw you mention it on Insta, and now I see it EVERYWHERE.)

Right?! As soon as you see it once you start to notice it EVERYWHERE!! And thank you re: the nails! They were my Wimbledon nails because I’m extra like that 😂 💜💚

My son is a week older than yours, he completely stopped breast feeding about a month ago. It was all of a sudden, but actually I feel great, as he's not constantly trying to pull my top up anymore and he's got so much more cuddly (without boob). I loved breast feeding but I'm also glad it's done now it's been a month. X

I'd absolutely love a drawer video! Especially because it will be more real than these picture-perfect videos you mentioned - which remind me of those pristine and perfect kitchen pantry videos, that seem like no one actually cooks anything

A good nappy bag is curated over time. I started with a standard size nappy bag (aka huge) and realised I just wasn’t using majority of what I was packing. I was charity shopping and stumbled across a discontinued cath kidston nappy bag that literally fits a pack of wipes (it even has a flap at the front so I can get wipes without opening the bag) a few nappies, a small pot of cream and a small first aid kit (I’m a childminder, a first aid kit is essential in any bag imo!). Bonus was that it is red with white dots, so matches the red sun canopy I’d just sewn for our wagon!

this is only tangentially related but i thought i'd share this cute story. i remember when my mom had my youngest sibling (i was 7 at the time) and due to being delirious from sleep depravation started calling the nappy bag a "compost bag". she did it by mistake a couple times and then it just stuck and the whole family knew what she meant. along the same vein she also started calling the remote control for the TV a "remote transport".

As a formula feeding parent, the one thing i love about our rucksack changing bag is the front pocket which has space for 3 bottles. Keeps them upright and is supposed to be insulated as well. I also have a changing mat which also has pockets for wipes and nappies all in the same thing (looks similar to the grey one you showed). So if im just popping out i can just grab the changing mat and know everything is in there. Yes to drawer video!

My little girl (about to turn one!) went on nursing strike after her 12 week jabs. Very stressful and very emotional, so sending love your way. In the end, the way we got over it was just hanging out for a couple of days with me with no top on… no expectation of her to nurse, she just did it when she was ready and then after that first good feed, all returned to normal. Appreciate Rowan is a lot older than Olivia was then, but hoping you find something that works for you 😊

I need a little pram/buggy bag so ots good to see your update. Ive got a big vans backpack which i seperste all my bits and pieced into. Usially included are a bag for 'changing - nappies, wiped, mat, nappy bags'. 'toys' 'first aid' 'snacks'. I breastfeed so i dont need to consider milk but we do have a individual bottle bag if my husband takes him out. I also have on my to do list to spray my bag with waterproof spray because mine has been soaked through a couple of times. Hoping you get back on your bf journey 😢🤞xx

I just figured out a tip for the spare outfit in the diaper bag: pack something one size larger than what your child is currently wearing. That way, you don’t have to worry about something cute being “out of the rotation” and it’s sure to still fit whenever you need it.

Thank you for showing what you carry with you for an outing! (And now I know that the weird folded up thing that my health insurance sent me was a changing mat.)

I think part of the reason the bambino mio bag is so big is because is for reusbale nappies. I use reusbale nappies as theh do take up more space than disposable so I wouldn't be able to take out a bag as small as the one you have day to day just because I couldn't fit 2 nappies and the other bits we have for a day. I do have the bambino mio bag and use reusable and it is really handy. Just want to put that out there for anyone that might be thinking about nappy bags and reusable nappies 😊 (i also dont use a seperate bah my stuff just goes in the baby bag 😂)

I also found it surprisingly hard when I finished breastfeeding, I was weaning off very slowly anyway but suddenly it was like my daughter decided ok we're done and then that was it. Some things that helped me is to remember that stopping breastfeeding was a big change for my body (hormone levels etc) so it was natural that I'd feel out of kilter and maybe quite low, but my body would soon adjust (and it did!). Also remembering all the nice moments we had on our breastfeeding journey, not dwelling on how it ended. A few months later and I just feel positive about the experience, I hope with time you feel better too

"So much stuff! " - yep, I relate to this. Yay to one handed everything! Our huge nappy bag is pretty much the only buy from before baby I never used. Just prefer to travel light. So we have a system of colour codes transparent pouches for everything (food, diapers, outdoors stuff, toys, etc) and pack those in our normal bags. I also like to keep a few wet wipes in a small resealable plastic bag instead of carrying around a large pack (or buying the mini ones that are still too many for one outing)

I'm sorry about the nursing strike, i was also so sad when my son just quit one day. And as for the actual video, the ikea changing mat is super compact, you can wash it with your regular clothes, and later it's useful when you start potty training to protect the mattress/ sofa etc

My kiddo went down to only nursing at bedtime for ages, which was a definite improvement, but it still made me so miserable that I couldn't wait for her to stop! It's interesting how different people feel about it. I definitely think I had a weird hormone reaction to it and also it would set off my sensory issues quite a lot. I used an awesome nappy bag from TK Maxx that had a wet bag and a changing mat and even a little mirror in it, and it has bees on 😆 my daughter is 4 now and I still don't want to get rid of it so it's kind of used as a bag for taking spare clothes etc instead.

I use the bagpack which came with our stroller for longer trips, but i put all of my stuff in there as well😅 so sometimes it is tight (also because we use reusable nappies). For short trips were i only need one ore two nappys i recently discovered the small bagpack which came with the deuter baby carrier as a good alternative...

Hugs about a nursing strike! It's difficult, and feels like the toddler is rejecting you as a mother, but that isn't the case! Hope it isn't the end for you, but even if it is, at 14 months you had a long and successful breastfeeding relationship with a lot to be proud of.

Oh it's hard with the breast feeding. My sister really struggled the opposite way. She was going back to working and my nephew just had to start taking the bottle while she was at work. Neither of them were amused by the situation. Both were emotionally upset. It was a rough couple of weeks.

Do you feel you 'need' the bigger day travel one, or would you be able to use work arounds for things like going swimming and going on longer trips? Or is it such a good size for those things that it feels worth it?
@morehannah

For a day trip I reckon I could find a workaround like using the bottom of the buggy storage (although ours is quite small!) but we do regularly use the bag when we go for weekends away so worth it for those trips!

Did people tidy the drawers before they filmed them? 😂😂😂😂 well maybe, however I don’t, I need to have my baby‘s clothes organized and neatly folded otherwise I‘d be overwhelmed and get mad (thanks ASD). Reusable diaper using mom too and honestly I LOVE folding my baby’s clothes and putting them away in their designated spots every day (after 1 load of diapers and 1 load of „regular“ clothes being washed), because that’s the last item on my daily chore list and after that I can either go to work or have spare time…depending on the day of the week. Mind you, my last chore is at around 8:30 am - 10 month old baby leaves for their child minder for 2 months now at 7:00 am. I love having sh*t done and neatly organized that early in the day and afterwards I can solely concentrate on adult stuff until baby comes back from their child minders at around 4 pm. It’s a blessing to have loads of time for adult stuff and I can listen to tons of podcasts while I take care of housework and baby organizing work every morning. Also I find that task takes waaaaaay less time, if you do them in small increments daily rather that once a week (like pre-cooking all if baby‘s porridges and purées and baking their bread for the upcoming week 🤷‍♀️). Loved the video - we use exactly the same cup - munchkin light green 😂😂😂😂 - well my baby uses the blue and pink versions, too 🤪).
