I am just beginning to figure out what I need in my bag as well as what kind I want to use. One thing I have is a bandana. This is to put around my neck and tuck into the top of my shirt. I have experienced cartridges flying into the neck of my shirt and those things are quite warm! This is a great list of things I will add.

One or two pairs of exam gloves in with the trauma/aid kit is a reasonable practice, worrying about the condition of someone's blood can slow down your response time.

Just found your channel and subscribed. Have been trying forever to get my wife interested un shooting and self defense with no success. She would never watch other vids about shooting but this weekend she watched several of yours! Deleading wipes are important too. I also like keeping an overshirt and hat for minimizing lead transfer to hair and clothes.

I carry the lead wipes but it's such a huge container. Can regular wipes provide the same benefit?
@jameslooker47913 жыл бұрын
@@lauriecarlton8907 I use a smaller container, but the reason they are important has to do with the solution in the wipes. I would put some in a ziplock The lead on your body isn't difficult to off with soap and water, but the deleading wipes will dissolve more lead off your body per wipe than an average wipe. Realistically, the most important thing is wash your hands and eat before, not after the range. Also, just be aware every single surface in a gun range has a thin coating of lead contaminated powder. I try to use museum rules and just touch as little as possible and don't linger.

I have lots of things in my range bag. one thing I am missing is first aid kit. I never thought of that. so now I am going to add that. So here is my list. Ear Protection, box staples, leatherman, plastic bag, hair scuncis, pair of scissors, 4 pens, gun oil, small hammer, gun mags, small punch, Cmmg 22 bolt for my AR-15 to 22, AR-15 round catcher bag, 6 and 8 inch targets, Fome rubber pad, ammo for the guns I shooting that day, and the most important stapler. But after watching you, I am adding first aid kit. Ho yes a good nail file, and nail clippers.

Try peacock pocket warmers. You also might want to consider more things in your trauma kit (more pressure dressings [especially more gauze, doesn`t have to be hemostatic], chestseals, gloves [not the black ones but some you can see the blood on], tubus & trauma sheers). My trauma/first aid stuff is held together with some rangerbands (out of a old bycicle tire) and a elastic band that`s originally used in the military to hold the pantslegs over the boots. You also might like ballistol. It`s antiseptic, helps with faster healing, smaller cuts and rough skin but it`s also gunoil among other things.
@SheEquipsHerself4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip!! I'll definitely look at adding more to my trauma kit
@mrd70674 жыл бұрын
@@SheEquipsHerself Make sure the chestseals are with hydrogel. Improvised ones with tape tend to get loose when there is body hair, sweat or blood. I like hyfin double pack chest seals but whatever is probably fine as long as it has hydrogel and are at least two (entrance and exit wound). As far as traumasheers go there is a big difference in quality and the very cheapest ones tend to not work. As a sidenote a safety cutter like on a resqme can also be great for cutting pantslegs.

For non-gun and non-ammo I keep the rest of the miscellaneous shooting crap in a clear game bag of the type they make you use at football games. All the stuff you use every time. Or might need on occasion. It’s clear so you can see if you took anything out and it keeps all that miscellaneous stuff from rolling around the bottom of the bag. The guns and ammo go in a separate tote. Both bags fit into the larger range bag but you can take everything out and find it easily. Targets are kept in a large envelope that also fits in the range bag. I’m not a real organized person and this system helps.

Electronic hearing protection. A Timer by Pact. Extra fiber optic rod and cigarette lighter. A large roll of masking tape for the targets. Batteries. Small bottle of glass cleaner. You have everything else. Good job. Thanks for your support.

In my first aid bags in my shop or truck or around the house I keep small containers of super glue. Excellent for sealing yourself up if you spring a leak. I would add a multi set of allen wrenches ( for adjusting sights, lasers and scopes) A skinny metal rod with a few patches and attachment (for dislodging rounds that may get stuck and not extract, and the patches to quick clean down the barrel in between- when shooting "hundreds" of rounds {it will help with accuracy consistency!} Also a small bright flash light (include small container of batteries for light and laser replacement!) Add also a Bottle of water and a snack bar. Happy shooting, love your channel.

Wow, I'm thinking that your bag must be pretty heavy. I'm just getting in the gun world myself and I'm trying to figure out what I should put in my bag. I like the idea of a first aid kit as that's something that I need to do. Probably one thing that I would add to your bag is a baseball cap. The visor part protects your face from shells that are flying out of your gun.

Great tips. Especially the first aid suggestions. I keep first aid kits in all our vehicles and a smaller version in my range bag. I need to add a tourniquet now. I used to use staples to put up paper targets but a friend suggested painters tape and I have been using that for a number of years. Just have to be sure and not use the "easy to remove" kind. I find the old school tan colored tape to work best.

I’ve been shooting for decades, but I nearly quit because loading mags is so hard for me as I’m getting older. 😫 The mags for a Shield EZ are designed with a small black “tab” that sticks out on each side of the mag, at the top of the internal spring. Stand your mag up vertically on a firm surface like your thigh or a shooting range bench. Place your thumb & index finger on the 2 tabs & press both tabs down at the same time, which compresses the spring inside the mag. Load a round. Press down further & load another round. Continue until you have loaded the desired number of rounds or until the magazine is full. Loading mags doesn’t get any “EZ-er” unless someone ELSE is loading them FOR you. 😂 Hope this helps! The ease of racking the slide and loading mags without needing an UpLula mag loader are 2 features that I really like about my Shield EZ 9mm. 🔥💥💖
