As a rabbit owner myself I have this to say: rabbits are a lot of work. If you are not willing to put in extra effort and time just like a dog or cat then DON'T GET THAT RABBIT. That goes for all animals too
@RaygirlROL9 жыл бұрын
True that! People seem to think rabbits are an easy alternative to a dog or cat, but they are such sensitive and curious creatures and need more than a lonely hutch in the shed. Bunnies are a big deal!

+Meiyumi Suzuki (Mei) True; a kitten fostering friend once told me about a couple of cops who brought in a box they found in the middle of a road at night, containing five newborn kittens, one of whom was already dead. She raised up the four, and her rescue group found homes for them. At least the good in this story outweighs the bad; the cops, who could've kept on driving; my friend, who fed and bathed them every two hours for three weeks; and the rescue group, who donate so much time, effort, and money to saving others' trash, versus one a-hole who couldn't be bothered to drop them at a shelter, much less wait until they're weaned and find them homes. Humans.

Sad thought, forgive me, but reading what people are saying about the probability it came from a home in which it was loved - I am thinking we are seeing a weird kind of a hateful crime. Someone new to the family or home wanted to punish someone else in the home. Perhaps not a family member but someone who knew where the key was kept? At any rate, the rabbit is safe, so we'll never know how this came to happen.

most likely someone who thought that bunnies are easy to keep because alll he ever saw was how they look for their first year of life and quite frankly most likely someone who was told in the zoological shop that this is miniature bunny and wont be so big when it grows up, the mistake that most people do in that situation is to not ask how big exactly it is going to be... So its partly owner fault partly zoological shop wanting to make money out of frankly gullible or misinformed people. i do agree that this is wrong way to handle the situation that is dropping said bunny in the wildlife center and its quite sad but its not exactly the owners fault all the time.

Hi Wildlife Aid, watching this video made me think of the time that I rescued my rabbit. Someone had dumped a baby rabbit on the side of a road at the entrance of a forest near to where we live. He is black and white and is very fluffy so we could easily tell that he was domesticated and some stupid people had dumped him thinking he would just join in with his 'friends' (wild rabbits) and live a normal life in the forest. Of course he didn't know what to do and so we found him in this ditch, dirty and on the verge of death. My mum picked him up without a struggle and we took him to the vets. He was just very weak and luckily we got to take him home! We put found posters up in the area but no one claimed him. 4 years later I still have my gorgeous fluffy bunny called Lucky and he was my first proper pet. I have always had a close connection with animals and I aspire to be a vet one day. Thank you for all the work you do :) xx

@sollie24416 жыл бұрын
bradb3rry i really wanted to adopt a rabbit instead of buying one. My animal shelter didnt have any rabbits but I turned to rescue groups in my area. But sometimes those home inspections from rescues are DIFFICULT to pass. After over a year of getting nowhere, I ended up buying a pet. Now I absolutely adore my little rabbit. Shes litter trained and adorable and so sweet. Shes definitely a part of my family. So i dont think home inspections should be a thing because it turns people off from adopting and into buying. :(

I mean, she's such a pretty doggy, and she's smart, and she has big brown eyes full of love, and she's so nice, and she would never bite you, and she's awesome! This video warmed my heart! I'm so glad you guys found this sweet creature before something dreadful happened, and gave her a chance despite it not being part of your duties. But I have to ask, what should people do about lost or abandoned animals? Obviously a wildlife care centre is not the right place, but is there a specific organisation to call if you find a domestic animal in trouble? Or is it just a case of calling your local animal shelter?
@wildlifeaid9 жыл бұрын
+RaygirlROL There are many pet rescue centres who do an absolutely amazing job of rescuing and rehoming lost or abandoned furries like rabbits and guinea pigs. Rescue centres in Surrey include Furry Friends Animal Rescue furryfriendsrescue.co.uk.gridhosted.co.uk, Bobtails Rabbit and Guinea Pig Rescue www.bobtailsrescue.org.uk and the RSPCA of course.

I've always felt that calling people "animals" is a very wrong expression. I'll throw in a Gandhi quote here: "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated"

Her eyes looked so sad when she was sitting on the floor like she knew she had been thrown away. She deserves to be with someone who will love her and cuddle her.

Who wouldn't keep such a beautiful thing. A few leaves of lettuce and a change of newspaper a day and no big deal.

Alfredo C ikr it takes a few minutes of your time if you don't care, one to two hours of lovely care if you love animals.

It takes a whole lot more than that to give a rabbit a happy live. A partner/friend, at least 8 square meters of room for each, "toys" and things to destroy/chew on, a mainly hay based diet with vegetables, fruits and different plants as snacks/other food and if possible something to dig in. They also love high places and you really shouldn't give them much lettuce as it isn't all that good for them, carrots aren't either really.

agree 100% w/ luna fowler, & lets not forget the vet bills!!! buns are considered "exotics" by vet world.. you need to find a bunny "specialist" .. they have very specific medical needs... sone common treatments for cats & dogs can kill them

This made me cry because one of my bunnies looks almost exactly like that one and I couldn't ever imagine abandoning either of my rabbits! How could people do that?!

Some people in this world are so vile and disgusting. Live animals ashouldn't be abandoned and just thrown away like trash. Thank you for helping the bunny

They keep calling it "he" but that rabbit is likely female as seen from the extra skin under its chin, something only females have. Edit: the ending message says "her" they figured it out lol

Wow, someone abandoned that poor bunny? It's so calm and sweet, the person who had it before could have easily re-homed it! Poor baby, glad he found a good home though.
