The counterweight pole from the EQ3 does fit this mount . I presume the EQ6 is the same but do not quote me on that.

This is actually relatively cheap for an SWG mount, its certainly cheaper than the AM3. I bought mine with the carbon fibre tripod and extension pillar as I will be using it mostly as part of a grab and go set up using either a Red Cat51 or a GT81. Its very light, very easy to move around my back garden, certainly more portable than my EQ6-R Pro or even an EQ3-2. I've had mine since July and have been very impressed with it, I hope you're having the same experience.

Which tripod did you end up using? looking at the flower pattern it looks a lot like the TC40 top of the ZWO tripod, but I guess it needs a mount where it actually goes into the top?

Sorry for the late reply. Was never notified of your comment. To this day, I’m still not using a tripod as waiting for the steel one to be released. I use a pier.

I notice there is no documentation in the box. There should be something that tells you to go to the website to download a user manual etc.

When Sky Watcher first released this mount in the UK, there wasn't even a manual available online. This has since been rectified.

Hi! good vídeo. I have one 100i for a 2 days and i notice that the autohome don't works exacty, a error of about 6 degrees for DEC. Skywatcher say me thats is normal and need to put -6 offset value in autohome for may unit. Do you thing this is normal? Your mount has this issue? Thanks!!

The only 2 problem I had with the amount was that it thought it was in the US /Canada after reconfigure it to my home location. The other was the dovetail seat was upside down when mine arrived otherwise I’ve had no issues

Why did you choose this over...say a ZWO AM3 or 5? Do you still think its a good mount?

Price mainly, weight capacity as it is more, Bluetooth and also skywatchers reputation the A3 in the UK is £110 more

Is this a hybrid or does it use a harmonic drive on both axes?

It is built based on a harmonic gearing design.

Watch out for firmware updates for this mount. There coming quite often at the min. Last one was 17/09/2024

@@AstroDadsUK I don't doubt you are. Revision notes for the most resent are :- Version 3.59 1. Fixed: Motors can slew without initialization.

This is very important, when I bought mine the guiding wouldn't respond to RA commands, it turned out that I needed to install the (at the time) latest firmware update which is something you wouldn't necessarily expect to have to have to do with a brand new product straight out of the box.
