No they put an object inside so when the animal moved the box, he heard it bang around, so now his predatorial instinct kicked in and he wants to know what's in there. You can do this with any cat, result is typically the same. I had a house cat growing up I would do this with on occasion and if you literally want to have endless entertainment, this is the key. Cats will bore with most toys, laser pointers or otherwise, but I watched my cat investigate this box on and off for hours every day. Sometimes he would knock it around then he would sit and stare at it for a while, then he'd attack it again, eventually he got it open and found the tennis ball inside. Then he didn't care anymore.
