I remember about 10 years ago during the legal battle between Samsung and Apple, there was an article that summarized, Samsung will always trail behind Apple in terms of creativity, and design. Fast forward 10 years, it's the opposite. I love Apple and my phone is Apple...but, these days, I feel like iPhone is 2nd best. Either the phone's design, or spec, just not that satisfying to carry Apple any more.

I would disagree. While the iphone lacks in terms of hardware, they make it up with a much more optimized software.. for me, a phone is all about « being easy to use » and apple simple gets it. The camera department is where apple proves how optimization can do much more than simply packing huge hardware.

Apple has been doing this on phones for many years. I still remember here in Australia "3" came out with video call phones mid 2000s. then Nokia came out with symbian apps, touch screen on their N95/6 with nice camera. Then five years later apple put all these together, made it user friendly and sold it well. Look at new earpods, for sure its all Beats ideas that were in development and would have been released last year if Apple didnt get involved with Beats.

Sorry, but it isn’t as simple as “Samsung was ahead because they released a commercial product with feature X before Apple”. While Samsung may have released a product with a worse implementation of feature X than Apple’s before them, Apple has always been working on those features that Samsung put out there for just as long as Samsung if not longer. We all know that Apple is about polish at this point. They wait on implementing a new tech till they get it right or that tech gets good enough for mainstream. And you can’t get mad at Apple for not being willing to put their users through a non-polished experience.

I am yet to see any Samsung user using reverse charging or vr on their phones. When looking at battery tests between iphone 12 and s21, the iphone manages to outlive the s21.

My point is if Apple has much more efficient battery management, why don't they release a 4000mah battery then? They would destroy the competition. And their phones are not lighter despite having a smaller battery

How about an open, unlocked Linux phone that lets _you_ the _customer_ be in charge? I was thinking hard about upgrading my Samsung S10+ to an Apple 12, until Google and Apple banished Parler and other apps. It's not their place to tell ME the CUSTOMER what I may or may not run on my phone. There are 2-3 open Linux phones either in beta or already being marketed, and I hope that number jumps up to a dozen. No reason why this shouldn't become a competitive third horse to take some market share away from the two dominant operating systems and the two dominant manufacturers (Apple & Sammy).

You've got it wrong, you're missing something big. Apple removes the headphone jack in (I forget). Then a couple years later they remove the charger. It's clear. Next year's iphone will not have a charger, or a headphone jack, or even a battery. It'll have a standard 110V AC plug which you plug directly into the wall, and a handle. But the screen will finally be a proper size 12" screen (in glorious 4:3 aspect ratio). With the brilliant colors that can only come from a proper Cathode Ray Tube. Actually it's the opposite, this video is picky about a few things Apple followed after Samsung while ignoring 90 percent of the time it was the opposite, I can call so many features and technologies Apple have introduced and Samsung and others followed, and don't forget most of the time Apple waits for the technology to mature then implements it, Samusng and others on the contrary don't care, they have this mindset of being the the first one, offering half malfunctioned and annoying new features.
