Wow, you and I live in differant worlds lol. I'm Canadian... 3 days ago we got 2.5 feet of snow overnight and it was -32C. Nobody lost power, kids still went to school in the morning. Mind you, if i went down there in the Summertime, i'm pretty sure i would die of heat stroke in 3 minutes or less

Well in CT we got 19 inches of snow about 1.5 weeks ago. Got another 10 over 3 days snowing over the last 7 days. Got 5 more inches yesterday. Still snowing right now. It has been 20-30 degrees for a while now. It had been a really easy winter prior this stuff. More snow in the forecast.

They are going to have to change the building codes for freezing temperatures in your area. Here pipes have to be 6 feet underground and come out inside the house to prevent pipe busting every winter. But hey, I live where winter starts in October and ends in April. Right now it's -6°C (21°F) and clear, but we did receive a foot of snow Tuesday, on top of the 3 feet we already had and we dot down to -30°C (-22°F) with wind chill. Supposed to get a few more inches of snow tomorrow.

Up in PA at the moment and its 22° & feels like 14° and been snowing off & on since Sunday . Glad things are soon to be back to somewhat normal. I'll be headed home to Tennessee & it is supposed to start warming up this weekend also.

I would have thought in Delaware u guys would be at -50 lol...I’m in Nebraska and yesterday morning I checked my thermometer on my front porch which is blocked from the wind etc...it read -30! And it wasn’t as cold as it was over the weekend! I’m waiting to hear how many cattle were lost and how much of the winter wheat was destroyed from the wind and now all the melting snow...we got over 2 feet altogether...and winter isn’t over yet

I'm from Michigan and I usually laugh when the south gets a cold snap with some snow and they freak out but you guys got the shaft on this one. Hopefully lessons will be learned from it so it can be handled differently if it happens again.

I lived in Texas for 50 years and moved to Indiana 17 years ago. I love the cold and snow here in Indiana. 12" of *snow flakes* on the ground and -2 F last night. Heaven.

Just a little north of ya brother, we just had our ninth day of below freezing temps here in Abilene Tx. Broken water mains all over the place. Lowest night it got down to -4. Plumers are all smiles though. Stay warm my scraping friend

Just found your page and I love it. I'm about 3 years too late. I'm an engineer who designs oxygen concentrators. What you took apart is not an oxygen concentrator, it's an auxiliary pump that hooks to an oxygen concentrator and pumps the O2 from the concentrator into high pressure oxygen cylinders. I took this same pump apart and studied it thoroughly. Anyways, I love your page!

The spinning thing is a step compressor. The reason for the different size pistons is because each piston take and steps the air pressure from about 3 pounds up to about 2500 pounds or PSI I've been using one for about 12 years. I know when my 1st compressor died it had 77,000 hours on it so they are built to last.

@@letsdothis9063 30 minutes for the smallest bottle and 45 minutes to an hour on the biggest bottle. It all depends on how worn out the on machine is. My first one lasted over 77,000 hours but not the ones after. I hope this helps. If you want to talk about it I am happy to help if you have some questions. I have several friends from Texas....and some got hit hard others not so much. We’ve had probably 9-12” of snow and 1/2” of ice here in south central Ky!! It’s been fun to say the least. I don’t think anyone can really prepare for ice. Except stock up on supplies for a couple days and ride it out!! Glad to see your family safe :)

that is really just a very high pressure pump that forces air through a filter to trap the nitrogen which is a much larger atom, leaving the O2 behind. it's a multi stage unit, hence the different size pistons. each one dumps into a smaller one for more pressure/less volume.

Freezing cold and snowing in North East Pennsylvania snow storm after a snowstorm and ice

I heard 3 million people without power in Texas. That’s crazy!! I’m from the north and my parents from the south. If you don’t have one already get a small generator and at least one electric heater. Get several of the big jugs of water, I think their 2 1/2 gallons. Make sure to have at least 5 gallons of gas on hand. A couple bottles of propane if you have a grill. A big roll of plastic. Generators need big heavy duty extension cords. If you use regular ones they will melt. If possible fill the bathtub with water. Can dip out to put in wash pan for washing hands and flush toilet etc. Pick a room in the house that you and pets will be comfortable in and use the plastic to cover the door ways leading into room. This smaller area will be easier to heat. Place the generator far from the house and not in the garage so you don’t get carbon monoxide poisoning. Get a power inverter for the car. Will be able to charge phones or whatever. For lighting use what your comfortable with. Flashlights candles, battery operated lanterns. In the winter always try and keep a full tank of gas in the cars. This advice is for everyone wherever you live. I hope you and your fam get through this cold spell.

that would've been a high pressure pump, seeing as those tanks run about 1200 psi. that's why there are so many cylinders of different sizes. each stage raises the pressure a certain amount, from the largest to the smallest, until the desired pressure is achieved. a little work, and it could've been converted to fill dive tanks.
