My honest opinion : dharavi people should not interrupt the process of redevelopment. All this years people keep migrating & make a mess. Half of them don't even own the land & blames government for it. Well no doubt they were free votes for the local politicians. And that's why we reach the point which is it became biggest slum in Asia.

Being honest some of the developer have reached dharavi for the development process and they also offered half payment of the rent where they will live during the process of reconstruction but due to less unity and understanding they rejected the offers everything and one of my friends father also tried to pull out the process but he failed to convence them

Why people don't migrate out of dharavi in 10k rent there are much better places in India. Because from my understanding there should be a stong driving force to get out of the place considering all the medical problems that can happen with their children so basic human emotions to protect their child should kick in. I am very curious to know the reason they still continue.

Because of free encroachment, muje toh lagta hai ki usmein dharvi mein sirf half hi rent dete baki all are just hustlers livin' nomads in those gullies and rooms as the actual can afford to give 10k to anyone and those who are not willing to move out are those with attached work baggage in and around dharavi most probably menial job holder jo sirf skill like sewing, knitting or collecting yehi karta hai and once out from that place usko itne skill level pe zada koi job nhi milega.

I don’t know why I am thinking like this, but I guess they are living there for free, no rent paid, and I remember when we migrated from our village to the city, my father did all the hard work and rented a place for us to live. We had nothing, just the hope and hard work of my parents. Neither of my parents were privileged, but they made it. But I wonder why these people should get a free home. Work outside, make money, rent a place to live, or migrate to a better place for living. I might be totally morally wrong for this opinion, but I am sorry, no disrespect intended. Go
