Not surprising the displays are not functional. Stores still don't want them being stolen so they usually have cables on them or keep everything locked up. Interesting video. I've taken apart tools when they malfunctioned to see if I could repair them. I usually can. Sometimes it's more convenient to replace them. Buying new parts even when you can find them takes time and I don't want to wait or go through the hoops getting new parts. Even when you get new parts you sometimes get the wrong ones.
