My main concern is that I've been wondering if these patches increase chances of getting stomach cancer. If dip can give you it in your mouth and you don't even sallow it. Imagine that you're now swallowing, I guess what would be the extract of a Tabaco plant...?

If it were not for Zyns I would not have kicked my nicotine habit. It’s waaayyyy easier to kick than other nicotine products. Yeah, kids shouldn’t be using it, but that’s on the places that sell to them, not the existence of quite literally the cleanest nicotine product. @@road2therunway It is just the binders such as cellulose (a polysaccharide that gives plants their structure and cant be metabolized at all), nicotine (addictive but pretty safe in the doses given in those pouches) and flavouring compounds that are used as flavoring agents in drinks, candys, etc. Which flavouring compounds are used has to be regulated since some can be harmful to some people while others are completely safe. Smoking tobacco is pretty much the worst possible way of consuming nicotine.

Long time Zyn user here that recently quit. I did vape for a year or so then quit. Hopped on Zyn after a couple of years and got hooked pretty badly on them. I only used three a day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with some occasional extras on the weekend if I was feeling it. It was and still is very hard to stay off of them. The cravings only recently went away after multiple relapses. While I totally agree that these are amazing for people that smoke or just wanna quit altogether don’t be fooled into thinking these are not addicting as well. It seems easy at first but man, I see people with those and wanna pop one in or I want to buy a can so much. Mint pouches help me stay off but it’s almost a necessity to prevent me from buying a can of Zyn. The worst part of it all is I just don’t inherently think it’s bad. But there’s just a deep thought inside that can’t imagine it’s GOOD for you as well long term. My advice if you’re a person that has never really messed with nicotine, just stay away. It’s not worth it, the money you waste for a maybe 2 minute buzz just isn’t worth it. Eventually you’ll just get used to it and get like a 5-10 second buzz then you’ll want more and boom, you’re dropping hundreds just to feel something. Lucky for me I limited myself, but I know friends that go through a can a day easily. For those folks that smoke/wanna quit. Do these but wind yourself down from 6s to 3s and quit altogether. They’re very easy, helpful, and I think have a positive impact as long as you QUIT. But that’s a lot easier said than done. Stay safe out there everyone. Careful with these things. I’m still gonna be strong as best as I can.

Nicotine pouches like Zyn are EXTREMELY addictive, almost to the point where if you use a few packs you might not quit for years. The harmfull effects however are potential and marginal at best, apart from gum damage and the cost ofcourse. I can understand Schumers view of trying to prevent the next generation from ever having a relationship with nicotine, but id be very surprised if america went for an all-out preventive ban of a product with few proven negative health effects. I use about 24 pouches per day and have no plans to ever quit. It has very little effect on my economy so i dont really see a reasom to kick the habit unless new research results are released.

I used to have a friend who was a huge supporter of tobacco. I thought he was nuts. But as I got older, I realized that he was right. If you're addicted to nicotine, you can use that as a tool to help build positive behavior by rewarding yourself with a Zyn. For example, having a Zyn after a workout will help build a positive correlation in your brain to working out. My point is, with Zyns, you can really help alleviate the downsides of traditional tobacco and use it as a tool as well. Below is an abstract from the National Library of Medicine. Beneficial effects of nicotine M E Jarvik 1 Abstract Nicotine in tobacco brings illness and death to millions of people. Yet nicotine in its pure form has the potential to be a valuable pharmaceutical agent. Nicotine fairly specifically binds to the cholinergic nicotinic gating site on cationic ion channels in receptors throughout the body. This action stimulates the release of a variety of neurotransmitters including especially catecholamines and serotonin. When chronically taken, nicotine may result in: (1) positive reinforcement, (2) negative reinforcement, (3) reduction of body weight, (4) enhancement of performance, and protection against; (5) Parkinson's disease (6) Tourette's disease (7) Alzheimers disease, (8) ulcerative colitis and (9) sleep apnea. The reliability of these effects varies greatly but justifies the search for more therapeutic applications for this interesting compound.

Hello everyone. I’m in my mid-40’s and have been a smoker for far too long. I was around 12 year’s old when I smoked my first cigarette. ZYN has helped me tremendously with cutting back on smoking. Currently, I’m down to roughly 2-3 cigarettes a day (sometimes none at all.) At the peak of my habit, I was smoking at least a pack a day. Although I haven’t quit smoking completely, I really feel confident that I will eventually be able to with the help of ZYN nicotine pouches. Take care and I hope y’all have a wonderful day! 😎✌🏻💯

I switched from tobacco to Zyn for about 6 months. This help put some distance between the "tobacco experience" and myself while still supplying me with the nicotine portion. Obviously, nicotine is addictive, but an equal part of the addiction is the habit and the routines we have with it. For example, cigarettes and your morning coffee. After I got rid of my routines, I was able to just stop using Zyn and I've been nicotine free for 5 months now.

Nicotine increases my resting heart rate by 20-30 bpm and takes my blood pressure to its healthy limits. I live an active life and regularly track these things, it’s remarkable how immediate the spike shows on the data. Emotionally, the nicotine numbs the peaks of my emotions, so I’m never really able to feel happiness, sadness etc to the extents that I know I’m capable of - I just feel kinda muted and always thirsty for more nicotine. Living with that level of compulsive desire can overlap into some of my other decision making and has given me challenges when trying to use good judgement. When quitting nicotine, which I’ve endured maybe a dozen times over the last two decades, I experience 1-2 months of brain fog and tiredness. when I think I’ve finally cut the habit, someone could smoke or vape in front of me and the compulsive desire to ask to partake is still quite strong. I believe fully that once the space for nicotine addiction has been made inside yourself, it never fully heals, so better to just not go there in the first place.

You’re still at a high risk for stroke and heart attack. Nicotine all by itself is a POTENT vasoconstrictor, meaning it reduces blood supply all over your body following ingestion. Over time, that adds up and will lead to cell death and vaso diseases like heart attack and stroke.

I quit zyn about a week ago. My blood pressure became a concern for myself after using zyn for well over 2 years. @@brentphillips-q7i yeah I mean I’m in my late 20’s actively healthy and going to the gym. To put into context, I was taking zyn almost every hour of the day and going through 2-3 cans a week. I also drank a lot of coffee since those two combined was euphoric to me 😂 anyways, whenever I would go into the doctors my blood pressure would be over 150/100 which at my age is NOT ideal. I noticed when I cut down that it dropped as well but overall, I just didnt want to worry about having high blood pressure this early in life and the effects it’ll have later on in my life

Nicotine pouches and the derived versions of it have been around in Sweden for a long time. Great alternative to cigarrettes. You get what you actually want (nicotine) without inhaling anything. Lots of Swedish research has been done on tobacco Snus too, not really finding any strong links to the types of diseases that you can develop from smoking. Nicotine itself hasn't been proven harmful either (in normal doses). What is problematic is quite simple, we know that inhaling anything that is not good clean air is bad for you, it's as simple as that. Having this as an alternative for smoking is fantastic and can greatly help reduce the rates of lung cancer and other problematic diseases.

These comments are really giving me hope. I bought a can the other day to stop smoking. I haven't tried it yet, but I REALLY need to quit. I did a triathlon in the beginning of the summer and through training, my only achilles heel was smoking. It killed my progress. I did finish the race, but under much cardio stress. Now, I am worried about throat and lung problems. I'm going to give this a try. Can't be any worse than what I'm currently doing. Sidenote: I don't want to mis-quote him, but I have heard Dr. Drew Pinsky advocate that nicotine is NOT the deadly ingredient in cigs and is actually not bad for you on its own. Sounds like this video agrees.

I quit smoking after fifteen years, with Zyn. I’m now on the lowest strength available with it, and have been for nearing three years- a single tin of 3mg zyn lasts me 2-3 days, and I’m well on my way to ending that entirely. If you really want to create harm reduction- you wouldn’t attempt to limit it. Tobacco, and nicotine products are already limited to 21+. Pretty ridiculous that you would try to get rid of something that helps, in a much more effective fashion than other smoking cessation goods available.

Every addictive item whether it be marijuana or alcohol, has a safe and socially acceptable alternative for people trying to quit. Except for Cigarettes. Every tobacco alternative has received massive backlash from political groups and the government. The attitude seems to be we hate smoking, but we're not willing to tolerate a compromise that would solve so many problems. It's Cold Turkey or Nothing.

Having had a nicotine addiction, I don't see how you can call marijuana an "addictive item". It may be habit forming in the way that coffee is habit forming and I'm sure there is the rare individual with some sort of problem with it but I am very sure that going without marijuana doesn't do anything near what going without nicotine did to me every time I tried to quit. Nicotine makes your body physically dependent on it. I don't think that marijuana, mushrooms, LSD, psychedelics in general create physical dependency.

So for any of you who don’t know, Big tobacco companies lose money to these alternative products every year. Now instead of developing their own alternative products and trying to compete with these other companies….they spend billion and billions of dollars on political campaigns to get someone in a position of power who is willing to ban these alternative products in exchange for financial gain. How this is not illegal you ask? Well big tobacco companies have been doing this process for over 100 years and played a major part in developing laws and regulations around the product that they ultimately sell themselves. Along with all of these unethical tactics these companies use to steal all of your money, they are also historically extremely racist, promoting the most harmful products to pro dominantly black people and other minority groups.
