In 2019 I went to Cardiff, Wales. I did a bus tour and the driver finding out that we were Jamaicans, slowed down at a school and told us that the first black Principal was a Jamaican female.

Such a lovely 😊 interview with mother and daughter. It is such a joy to know the love Carlene has for her daughter when she decided to travel abroad she never left her. Wishing both great success.

What a brilliant interview. I am glad that they are enjoying Wales and I greatly love and appreciate the fact that they are learning the Welsh language. I am a Welshman from the Valleys. The reason not many of us speak Welsh is because they used to get punished for speaking Welsh and also because of the coal mines which attracted a lot of English people to the area and the Welsh language was very frowned upon. The fact is that if the people of South Wales didn't face consequences for speak their language, they would probably all still speak it. If North Wales had the coal mines, then North Wales would be speaking English and the South would be speaking Welsh.

Ever since I was 10 years old, we learned that England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales are United Kingdom. I have read that the English oppressed the Wales centuries ago. This was in Jamaica school.
