Welcome to Singapore and another Singapore Airlines' trip report, this time on the Flagship A380 in Business Class. I already featured the Boeing 787, Airbus A350, and Boeing 777 previously on the channel, so this trip would complete my experience with all of SQ’s Business Class offerings.

A cool feature of Singapore Airlines’ A380 fleet is that the entire upper deck is fitted with First and Business Class seats. There is also a separate jet bridge that goes up to the upper deck. There are 6 First Class Suites and 78 Business Class seats running the full length of the plane. All seats are arranged in a 1-2-1 pattern, all with direct aisle access.
Singapore Airlines introduced this updated seat in 2018 with an all-new design manufactured by Japanese company JAMCO. Each seat is equipped with a side console, a full-width footrest and a storage compartment on the side. Seat pitch is at an impressive 152 cm and width is an above-average 64 cm. With the press of a button, it can be converted into a 2-metre long fully-flat bed. Unlike the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 777, you don’t need to manually flip the seatback forward to create the bed.

They have much bigger bed space compared to other seats and middle ones can be turned into a double bes. These seats are reserved for PPS members but become available for all 96 hours prior to departure if still available. You can call SQ contact centre to help selecting 😃😃

Another great vlog. The descriptive and enthusiastic way you commented on the food was very well done and appreciated (love the satay sticks they offer). I haven't flown on SQ for a few years now (damn covid!) but looks like they've maintained their impeccable and professional service standards! I didn't realise Gunners Barracks offered High Tea, looked amazing, reminds me of QVB tea room without the harbour view!

When you are on the a380 next, can you film the seat next to the emergency exit in business class? A lot of people complain about that seat but I find it one of the best seats on the a380s.

Would that be row 11 and 96 the bulkhead rows? Or row 95 just before the exit door? 11 and 96 are the best to be honest. No need to sleep horizontally. And middle seats can also be turned into a double bed 😍

Singapore Airlines is 2nd after Qatar Airways 2024, maybe SQ didn't have shower area in First Class

I would take that rating with a grain of salt. SkyTrax's ratings are in conflict of interests with the money they receive from airlines. Nonetheless, from many anecdotes you can find on the internet, you often get Qatar'ed to an older seat vs the QSuites that you are promised vs the consistency you can expect from Singapore Airlines.

Great video! About to book Business class for my family - I have an option to go A380 or A350 from London - what would you choose? I see the A380 have seats slightly closer together in the middle (so maybe a better couple seat) but the A350 is wider?

I think seat width is roughly the same on both aircraft but the sheer size of the A380 and the upper deck make it a quieter cabin and more comfortable overall. But A350 from LHR? I thought SQ mostly flies A380 and B777 from LHR but I might be wrong. A380 seat is a newer design vs A350 as well.

I can fly A380 from LHR or A350 from LGW (their new route). I'm leaning towards LHR/A380 as theres a limited lounge choice at LGW for Singapore Air (Apparently they'll be using the No1 Lounge). Great to see the comparisons on your videos for each, its helped me make my choice! 😀

Ah I see, that makes sense now, I forgot about their LGW. I agree LHR has better lounges but A380 > A350 > B777. B777 is great but air is drier than on A350 and a tad louder.
