Avoid? Sounds like you are giving the place a good report. What is the problem? Expensive? Looks much better than where I am a suburb outside of Pittsburgh that is very unwalkable, has few businesses, You must leave to buy things and has high taxes.

You're outside Pittsburgh? Christ above...MOVE EAST. Cumberland County is almost certainly cheaper then the Allegheny region. Though, do NOT consider Harrisburg. It's been run into the ground for all my life and more. Settle in the West Shore.

This is my hometown. I have not been home in nearly 20 years. I am so grateful to see so much I remember. I wish you talked more about the Historic side...Carlisle is a colonial town, and has effect through some of the nation's greatest trials. But well is well.
