What's it like on a geothermal drilling rig? | DILO | Drilling Companies H&P

H&P was the first to drill a horizontal geothermal well in the United States. Drilling for geothermal energy is tougher on a drilling rig than other types of drilling like oil and gas. We are drilling through solid granite which is much harder than the shale we drill through in basins like the Bakken Basin and most of the Permian Basin. Drill bits don't last as long and we trip pipe more often.
