Just got accepted today, can't wait!! Edit: in case y'all wanted to know how I got in I will tell you. One factor of how I got in was with affirmative action, since I'm Hispanic. Another factor are of course my grades. I took a total of 9 ap classes throughout my college career. I started with one ap class in sophomore year, 3 in junior, and 5 in senior. My grades weren't perfect, on the ap exams my highest score through all the classes was a 3. However, all classes had grades over 80 when I finished them. Another factor was clubs, this one is important. I honestly didn't take that many clubs in high school but for one club I was both a treasurer and vice president. Leadership in clubs is definitely important to see. Next, the personal essay. This essay is important, they want to know about you. For my essay I wrote about how I have an Internal voice that pulls me away from becoming the best of me. At the end of the essay I concluded that I put so much blame on myself for mistakes that weren't my fault and therefore resulted in me having an Internal voice pulling me back on making more mistakes. This personal essay helped justify why my grades weren't as perfect and why I didn't take as much clubs. Next is the why nyu? Honestly this essay took me on my 20 mins and I was just honest. I talked about how it would further my career and that I liked new York city. Next is the sat. I did do the sat, and I got a 1200. Since COVID happened, sat was optional and therefore I didn't show my sat score. That should be about everything that helped me get in. I hope this helped and I hope you get into this school as well!!

great video! ive always had nyu as my dream school because ive always felt a bit lonely in my small town and i thought nyu would be an escape where i could meet lots of new people so im shocked you said your friend said it gets a bit lonely! this gave me a new perspective of nyu
@mariad83854 жыл бұрын
It probably gets lonely due to the fact that it doesn’t REALLY have a campus so it’s probably hard to meet people
@Oscar-jo5pn4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree with the other reply. You definitely need to actively seek out social interaction. Nyu is either hit or miss you will love it or it’s a nightmare
@emazaxiix51773 жыл бұрын
All my friends who went there had friends like.. the very first day. going to orientation and meeting people, getting phone numbers for friendships or getting flirted with all happened to my friends who went there. It’s a really liberal social school but you should make an effort to look approachable and go to events like orientation and on campus concerts and all that
@eatingparis2 жыл бұрын
It can feel lonely because there’s almost “too much” people, so most keep to themselves. The best way to meet people are smaller classes and clubs (same as any other school)

NYU is kind of British style, like the Kings and LSE without campus culture. I said the London is its campus but actually not, that's indeed lonely and melancholic.
@user-tn7qj7mj2l5 жыл бұрын
Richard Ru NYU Stern student there! It has a British president but it doesn’t make it up for British style. The school is located in the heart of Manhattan, which makes it very hard to have an “actual” campus boundary between the City and itself. Schools such as Juilliard, the New School, Pace are all situated in the heart of manhattan so that it’s very hard for them to have a “real” campus. Columbia is a different story as it is in the Harlem area, which is the suburb of Manhattan. Despite NYU doesn’t have any boundaries between itself and the City, most of the NYU buildings are located together, and they are around the Washington Square area. The only buildings for the NYC Campus that aren’t located beside the Square are the SPS Midtown Center and Tandon School of Engineering. Last but not least, NYU London is NOT a campus, but one of 11 NYU academic centers EXCLUSIVELY for NYU students from its degree-granting campuses (NYC, Shanghai, Abu Dhabi) to study abroad, and the choice of location to study abroad is at students’ discretion.
