grace ripeka The management was horrible and I was barely trained, they train you off of hour long videos and start you off answering phones and taking orders then slowly graduate you to making pizzas, etc. BUT on my very first day I was put on front counter and had absolutely no idea what I was doing lmao. Then got yelled at because I wasn’t taught and kept getting the orders wrong. I worked there for about 2 months and just got tired of it

Id say the only irritating thing with customers is when they call ham “Canadian bacon” or beef “hamburger”. Other than that, I’d recommend working in a corporate owned store, it has much less restrictions on certain things, it’s more relaxed. You’d probably get raises more often than not. However, with less restrictions comes worse product quality. Franchise owned stores have decent pizza quality, better than most corporate owned stores because franchises compete with each other.

Two recommendations for beginners: get a map, (GPS devices fail; paper doesn't need a battery), and get a good (powerful) flashlight, (reading house numbers at night is much easier with a flashlight). Also, I always carry some extra (2-liter size) drinks in my car, which solves problems every month, (like a drink getting left behind in the rush out of the store, or the wrong drink was ordered, (eg. a "Diet Coke" and not a "Coke"). A trip back to my car's trunk is so much shorter and faster than a trip all the way back to the store to "make it right" when that happens.

As a Domino's driver I agree that it is way more stressful than getting to work inside but you're also making almost twice the money that CSRs are making. Being inside is only worth it when you're a manager, but also being a manager is even more stressful than being a delivery driver.

Pizza delivery guy here too: I agree driving has its pros and cons. For one thing, the money and the freedom is great but not being able to find the address sucks. Make sure your Insurance covers too. Mine does but a lot don’t so if you get in an car crash, then you’d have to pay outta pocket if they find out you were delivering pizza at the time of the Accident

I'm insider and I personally think y'all have it easy. I wish I could've been a driver instead. The drivers here just have to deliver food, take calls, fold up the pizza boxes, cut up pizzas, and do the dishes. Insiders have to do all that already and more. Except the delivery part lol. Some of the drivers I know make better tips than us insiders do just for delivering the food. Had a guy made over $100 in tips. While I got a $5 tip that day.

I personally have been working for pizza delivery since 2010 and I really like it overall but at times it could be stressful when you have like 3-4 deliverys you gatta deliver at once and and theyre late. No one's leaving as of right now untill all orders and services are fulfilled!!" It was the weekend... weekends are insanely busy... So I was kept till closing time. Which was 2 hrs later.... I felt like I wasn't trained enough and I was thrown out there already... go figure... I'm 29 years old working with a bunch of 18/19 year olds I'm just there as a part timer. It’s a lot of wear and tear on your car though. I got an interview this Monday to be a driver and I’m hoping I could be an insider as soon as possible when they see how good my work ethic is. I’ve driven for doordash and I’ve had to change my tires, do a couple of oil changes, gotten 1 damaged rim (my fault) and a couple of nails in my tires during deliveries (los Angeles isn’t exactly a clean city) Plus I don’t know a single thing about paying taxes or the 1099 shit. Planning to consult with a tax professional and once I pay off what I owe I’m never going back to doordash

I m Ed from Brazil. I drove for Domino´s in Salt Lake a long time ago. But on my shift in that store I didnt make much. It would be nice if we could know which places would be a big deal to be a pizza driver. And in the US we use cars to do the deliveries and there are not much appropriate vehicles we can find for this job. So, maybe a geo metro would be the best car to do it. I d not put a car like a ford Taurus or a truck to do pizza delivery. Another thing, it would be nice to know which cities or stores would be a big deal to drive for. Because I have driven all night long for it and it was not worth it. Some places we drive a lot for little $$ doing pizza delivery

You forgot to mention that veteran drivers tend to get a little narcissistic and start loading up on doubles and triples even when it's slow (or there are a ton of drivers in the wait). New drivers aren't wanting to rock the boat & just won't do that.

Quick question from someone who wants to do delivery driving as my first job. I was wondering if you have to give them change or if you just take the extra money as a tip. I’m terrible at math so I don’t really wanna calculate how the amount of change I have to give them lol
@tslicetv1353
@tslicetv1353 4 жыл бұрын
Yes they give you $13 in currency and $2 in coins so that you can make change but you can never my change for more money than you have. It's so that you won't get ripped off a bunch of money. They have a locker at the store that you put your extra money inside every time you come into the store to get another run. Counting money back is very simple. Just reverse the sense up to the next dollar and then count out loud to get to what they handed you. Very simple. don't be scared. The numbers will come easy. And the chips will be earned. Sometimes you can make up to $20 on a tip for one single Pizza. Sometimes be ready to bring extra plates also. especially when you have 5 or more pizzas to deliver at one time. Good luck.

I don't understand people who don't have a good work ethic I mean growing up I saw that my parents worked hard and they did their job well even if they hated it because they had to put food on the table and it kept a roof over our head and not only that but my mom when I was a teenager like 13.. 14 She instilled in me that when I got my first job which I got when I was 14 I needed to work hard and get to work on time and come in when they ask you know stuff like that and she even would sit with me at the kitchen table and help me practice how to properly count back change I know the cash registers get it and still do tell you how much change to give but it's good to know how to count back change properly without a machine telling you so it's always confusing for me when people don't have a good work ethic

Very true. The pandemic didn't help that at all either, everyone started loving homelife. The nation is even considering passing a law now where it will be illegal to work 40hrs.
