I remember my first drop as a Helldiver. Malevelon Creek. I heard all about the stories, but little did I know just how sorely underprepared, and ignorantly optimistic I was. The first few bots dropped even faster and harder than the bugs did back on Mars. But it wasn’t long before I found myself frequently hugging the ground under heavy suppression or caught in a crossfire. Its a miracle I came out of my first mission there alive, and it’ll be a miracle if I finish my last mission there alive. For Liberty!

Legit this, also try out some non standard tactics. I've found solid snaking in (crawl) and throwing strats and bugging out to be surprisingly effective. Beyond thst get a shield backpack. The jar 5 and a railgun.

These days the bots never go quiet until you've cluster bombed half the Liberty-damned forest. Red lights glaring everywhere, tyrannical smoke stacks blotting out the sky. As I'm sitting at the bar nursing my drink, vainly trying to ignore the hooting and cheering from the new recruits so proud from their recent bug stomping, I can't help but remember my first deployment. Was told my first campaign would be against the crawling menace, just like every other fresh faced recruit, eager to prove themselves. Suddenly we received new orders straight from Super Earth High Command. Apparently the Automatons had made a recently huge push against our liberation efforts in the Western part of the Galaxy. Our battlegroup was being shipped out to halt their momentum, and hold until we could properly entrench ourselves. All we had to do was hole up and wait for reinforcements. Our target was a jungle planet that was the epicenter for the big push from the metal brains, Malevelon Creek. God, just thinking about that humid hellhole has my hands shaking. So eager to fight back then, to kill, to make those cybernetic bastards pay for every inch of ground they took. On my first dive, practically dove into my pod, chomping at the bit for good battle. I was cocky, and blind to the dangers that waited for us down there. How, as soon as we landed, it was practically raining artillery shells. How quietly they moved through the forest. How at night, while we were moving behind enemy lines, the trees were practically speaking binary. The moment one of those Automaton freaks saw even the smallest hint of us, the forest would suddenly come alight with crimson laser fire. The rest of my memories rush by in a maddening rush of lasers, orbital strikes, and screams from dying comrades. All the medals and commendations don't mean jack shit to me. All that matters is the tags from my fallen allies, and the collection of Automaton eyes I keep on my belt line. So they can watch from the grave as I mow down their friends with all that Super Earth can provide. My little form of revenge. After my drink, I go back to my quarters and suit up. My friends fight may be over, but mine sure as hell isn't.

At least.. we thought.. I heard over the comms that the automatons had artillery cannons aiming right at us and when I glanced up into the air I saw something that will forever haunt me to ends of super earth. A red fiery bolt of energy raining down upon us, eviscerating the landscape, one of my comrades took the brunt of the attack... he didn't make it. Eventually the artillery ceased its attack, we thought we were in the clear until we saw an automaton tank... it crushed all the trees in its path and the mechanical sounds made it sound like an aggressive animal. It fired.. the shot didn't direcly hit me but I felt the plasma shock from the hit, it knocked me out cold... all I remember after that moment was my friend calling in evac as he held the line all on his own.. he took out so many of those.... those monsters and as the artillery fired he stood tall despite his injuries, the evac ship arrived and he carried me into the ship, he noticed the ship wouldn't be able to take off with the amount of enemy fire hitting it so he decided to become the bait, he got off the drop ship and drew them away from the ship. After that day, I don't even want to go back, but... my loyalty is to managed democracy, even if it costs me my life, I'm going back, I'll make those robots feel pain and avenge my fallen friend and comrade.

i am a Helldiver in charge of Malevelon ran 20 missions in it and stay alive to tell the tell. It hell out there the trees do speak. The robots do march with no end insight. seen countless lives gun down and taken. But i am proud on serving in the front lines and lead my men to keep pushing them back.

Creek Boys never die. Had my first deployment there, guns ran drier n dirt mowing them down. The walkers everywhere, Gunsmoke and the constant smell of ozone from laser fire. Barely made it out of that drop. The creek changes you. Molds you from a soldier into a hardened Commando, a guerilla. I haven’t seen a community like this since Planetside 2. It’s a game from WAY BACK during the 360 and PS3 era that’s still ongoing. It’s a constant war between 3 factions and 4 continents. Unlike here the entire continent is a giant battle ground. One faction are loyal soldiers of Earth, the other are a separatist rebel faction wanting independence on a planet that holds valuable resources Earth wants this rebel faction has had to get funding form Corporations to fight back so their machines and guns are big, blocky, slow but hit like trucks and then theirs a zealot group that mutated themselves with that same resource and worship it as a liberator that will ascend them beyond humanity. Fast, lots of energy weapons but squishy. You fight for every inch of land, use every tactic you can and everyone know the terror that happens trying to take The Crown. A mountain base in the center of on of the continents. It’s a literal uphill battle and is always a Storm the Beach’s of Normandy moment.

I was one of the few couple 100`s who were not dispensed to the creek... During this time I was out making sure that the surrounding planets were staying liberated with my my other fellow Helldivers. The stories... The videos... The pictures and photography... I can't imagine what it was like out there. I still wear that cape for all the fallen fellow Helldivers who died trying to take that planet back in the name of liberty and democracy. May they all be honored and rest knowing that planet was finally conqured.
