‘What’s it truly about?’: Albanese called out over potential Makarrata commission

The Herald Sun’s Senior Writer Patrick Carlyon says there is “no appetite” for treaties or truth-telling at the moment.
His remarks came after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese revealed he was open to the idea of a Makarrata commission.
“What’s it truly about? Is it about actually ‘truth-telling’ as it’s called, or is it about activism and reparations down the track?” he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

The current government is a nightmare and has to be stopped. Don't we have more pressing problems which need to be addressed? Housing, cost of fuel, price of electricity and groceries. If that's what Albanese now intends then that's monumental deceit. The VOICE referendum result was decisive. Albanese undertook post the result not to pursue other follow on initiatives (treaty & 'truth telling') as a result. In other words he's understood the people. That said it's now understood Albanese is facilitating, albeit from afar, trying to put some distance between himself & any potential controversy, the seperate initiatives by the states. Again, that's deceit. For Albanese to now, again, to be putting up, "being open to Makarrata", isn't just foolish. It's again.....deceit.

Hi, Folks. As I understand it, a treaty is an agreement BETWEEN NATIONS about something. Again as I understand it, Australia never had or was a 'nation' prior to January 1, 1901. All it had before that was first a collection of tribes who often FOUGHT with each other and then a collection of states who couldn't even agree about which railway gauge to use.
