@@apollo-r5z yeah i know but the transformer doesnt consume power (except for a small% of loss. So power in = power out. This isswhy they use super high voltages on transmission lines. For the same power transfer the voltage is much higher and the current is much lower. Power = voltage x current. But power loss in a transmission line is purely rdlated to current squared p= current x current x residtance so if you get 100 x the voltage the current will be 1/100 and the power loss in the wires will be 1/10,000.

Australia has had a (HIMAR) Nuclear Energy Facility (for Research). Opened in 1958, closed 2007, when it was superceded by the newly made O.P.AL. Facility (opened August 2006). No problems have resulted from either Facility that could not be overcome, thus avoiding any catastrope. As a child (13/16), i caught and ate yabbies out of the creeks below that Lucas Heights Facility. At 70+ i am in good health.

I know that. I was trying to help you understand volts amps and watts. If you had 12 volts ac and a 20:1 transformer you would get 240 volts out. Transformers do not create power, power you put in the 12 volt side is the same as thr power you get out thr 240v side( minus a small loss) So if you were drawing 4 amps out of the output you would be putting in 80 amps on the input side. 80 amps x 12v in = 960 watts. 4 amps x 240v out = 960 watts. Thats a basic property of transformers. They change the voltage to current relationship (20 times thr voltage and 1/20 x the current) but they dont consume power. This is why transmission lines are 132000 volts. More voltage but less current and power losses in transmission lines are related to the square of the current.
