Doesn’t matter who the coach is with a non mobile QB the next 4 seasons. CNN has an article right now talking about mobile QBs: “The quarterback position has completely changed in the NFL. I want you to think of the prototypical quarterback of yesteryear. It’s probably a stiff and tall guy who stayed in the pocket and couldn’t run to save his life. Indeed, one of the greatest insults you could throw at a quarterback back then was that he was a “running quarterback”. Those days are gone now. The prototypical winning quarterback is one who can use his feet. And if your quarterback can’t run, chances are you’re going to be on the outside looking in come Super Bowl time. @@ralphmontemalo6378 Thats just not true. They are coming off 3 straight 12 wins seasons which is the best stretch since Jimmy. I hate to say it, but thats the facts. I think what fans are seeing is that the Jones's dont care about winning a championship. They care about making as much money as possible and to do that, they do need to stay competitive and in the playoffs most of the time. They dont have to win it all. They spend to the limit of the cap and not over it. They spend something like 40m less a year than the Eagles. They have gotten so cheap with thier football team, that they would rather bring MM back on a cheap deal, then get an upgrade for him at more money. Big Mike is the best coach they can get cheap and keep the team competitive. They are going to get him for less than half what the best coaches make. ITs possible that they fall apart but there is still really good players in their prime on the team and if they spend a little money,, they are probably back in the playoffs next year. Which keeps them on TV every week, and in the media everyday, and the stadium full.

I’m a McCarthy fan. 5 years as coach, 1st and last dak got hurt and we had losing seasons. And then 3 straight 12-5 seasons back to back with 2 as nfc champs. People complaining now must have not lived during the Jason garret mediocre era. 5 8-8 seasons at least.

Jerry drawing this out has caused most of us to ignore if MM should even be the HC. Jerry & CapBoy are too lazy to do a full out HC search. By stringing this out MM, when they decide to bring him back, they'll frame it as if they went through a list of coaches & MM is still the best candidate for this team.
