So sorry this happened to you. These are evil, heartless predators and it's not your fault; if you don't know what to be wary of then you had no way of really knowing. That's why I feel there should be more public awareness courses about scammers and their tricks. My very non-tech savy parents almost got deceived a few times and were lucky that I was around at the time to help steer them away from their traps. I’m so sorry! I hope you can get in contact with your bank and see if they can get any of your money back. My mum is of a similar age and I try to let her know about these scams but she gets so scared that I can’t get too in depth or she’d never use the internet again. She’s a retired business woman who used to use computers every day when I was a child, the fear tactics these scammers use are designed to make people panic and not think clearly. This wasn’t your fault and it’s a horrible experience. I have panic attacks and I can imagine how terrible a time you had. I wish you the best in the future and I hope somehow the universe restores karma and something really good happens to you x

I met a disabled, widowed, and elderly woman yesterday. While talking to her she revealed last week she was scammed for all the money she had, $300k. She has been working with the local police, but she doesn't believe they will be able to help her. I didn't even know this woman, and she was so broken, she just needed someone to talk to. I felt terrible for her. She mentioned her husband had recently passed, and it was their life savings. Just disgusting

Some scamsters tried to scam us last week. I got a call from “Schwab” and stupidly picked up the call. I was told that someone was trying to access my retirement account. I was asked if I would like to file a complaint. I told them that I would and for the next ten minutes or so provided them with my husband’s phone number and email. Finally, after 8 - minute long phone calls and drops, I remembered that financial institutions will not call me unless I specifically requested it, I hung up and called Schwab myself. I was told that there was no recent activity. I wisely told them that I wanted to freeze all of the accounts immediately. Great that I did. A day later someone tried to do a wire transfer for over $86,000 from one of the accounts, which Schwab denied. About the same time, someone was busy setting up 93 authorized users on my credit card ! Needless to say, everything is frozen and on multi factor authentication. Everyone, please be careful. There are some really bad people out there.

Was in the same boat back in 09'. IT services for a company that provided life saving and QoL devices for the elderly. 99% of that calls were either resolved by changing batteries or plugging the device in. I never rushed or hanged up. Took my sweet time and explained it all down so they could write it down, step by step. It might seem infuriating but all i could think is all the times i was child. Pooping my pants, slapping food, not understanding basic instructions, I was fortunate enough to have parents who were patient and understanding. A few years ago I got a call by a scammer pretending to be a police officer. He claimed a witness saw me being involved in a drug deal in a park. They obviously used info they gathered online, because that park was pretty close to the university I went to. But I moved from place many years ago and I just laughed at them and wished them a good luck for their ~500km journey to arrest me. Kit gave me so many crazy ideas. I've no idea if I could bait them, but I sure would try to waste their time. 😂

Apparently border patrol seized my car at the Mexican border and they found a lot of cash, guns, and duffle bags of drugs. I of course checked literally every single thing he said and within 2 or 3 minutes he was literally asking how he could prove he was amazon. I just said I'd contact the actual company and he hung up. I have a prank that we used to do while we were in college. Here the step to do it. 1. Takes a screen capture of his screen. 2. Set that picture as the background. 3. Hide or delete the taskbar and delete all his icon on the desktop. 4. Enjoy the show of having him try desperately pushing the start button or an icon without having the expected result. Doing that to a scammers will make them mad while making them waste a lot of money. If we were to have a script that do it automatically at a random time of the day, that would be better.

My sister was scammed out of $4,000, they told her she had to transfer all her money into bitcoin to protect her money, that they claimed her "husband was downloading a lot of child porn and the FBI will arrest him" if she didn't send everything she had, so she did. She was 65 but a very, very, very heavy drinker, so she was also paranoid. I'm 71 and I got a call like that and I told them to go fu*k themselves and hung up.

I just love your videos. I once kept scammers busy on the phone all day. They wanted me to go to my bank and withdraw $7000. Ha Ha Ha Ha. So I pretended to be at the bank when suddenly it was robbed by bank robbers. Ha Ha. Complete with " gun fire" provided by me --- popping some of those air filled shipping item protector things. I had a blast!!!!!

Really fun. Just started getting the new scam calls, texts, and emails for 2024. One today was to cancel a visa “suspicious “ charge. Didn’t engage. There was a time when I would have been drawn in to this, but after watching your videos, I know not to fall for it. They are so very persistently malicious. I get 2/5 calls a week and I’ve always known it’s some scam bs so I prolong as long as I can then say something crazy. I just got scammed online today, was using a new website that i didn't know and ended up stupidly giving up my credit card info Fortunately I caught on as soon as my money was gone and called the bank, I should be able to get my money back in a few days Gonna exclusively watch Kit and other scambaiting content until then to make me feel better :,) By the way I'm young, I know how the Internet works, so as many scambaiters say: the moment you think you're too good to be scammed is the moment you're most vulnerable
