I'm not ashamed to say I was shouting words of encouragement at you even though its a pre recorded video haha! Solid effort Erik - any increase in FTP is something to be proud of because you work hard for it! I'm 8 weeks through the zwifts FTP builder and after watching this, I think I will stick to the ramp test !

There was me thinking of doing The Grade this week to see where I’m at with my FTP 🤔 Thinking better of it now 😂 I’ll just be happy with my 236 for the time being. Amazing effort E 👏
@DontGetDroppedCyclingКүн бұрын
Honestly wasn’t really planned myself… started out just jumping into the TOW ride for XP then based on where I was and the fact every group kept dropping me, my content brain was like THE GRADE TIMEEEEEEEE
@evilstef667Күн бұрын
the struggle starts in the hairpins ,dont worry 281 w at the Grade might bump up your zFTP over 295 W . we had that during the Rhino Champs , Stage 3 Hill Climb ITT , booo that ended my sandbagger status , averaged 333 W ,gave me 293 W but my zFTP went up to 305 W again , where it was before i enterd Cat C for a few months , now back to B

I did it once when it first came out. I was in good Zwift form then and was happy with how it went. I was off the bike for 3 weeks at the beginning of October and my Zwift fitness is gone. Slowly working at it to get back to where I was.
@DontGetDroppedCyclingКүн бұрын
I basically did everything I could to avoid it until now! Just get back on the bike and it'll be back in no time!

Hey. Coincidence, today I will also going to do my FTP test on "The Grade" for the first time. All the tests I've done before have been the 20min or ramp tests, so I'm curious to see what happens (and the differences). Thanks for sharing this video.

SMASH THAT FTP TEST!!!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
@jesikatКүн бұрын
I've done it once, and concluded that it sucked as an FTP test :p You maybe went out too hard at the start, your first segment average was like 340W. You want to blow up at the end, not the beginning ;-) You want to really be doing the lifting of everything you have left over the second half of the test. Might be why the gradient is like it is? Hmm, never thought about that before...

I took it to the test, my grade ftp was 304watts, the next week I tried a 1 hour max effort and ended up at 305watts, the grade is pretty good and accurate (in my case) ❤
@DontGetDroppedCycling2 күн бұрын
At the rate my average was slipping it sounds about right for me too if I was still pedalling till 20min. Out of ramp, 20min and Grade FTP Test… if I have to choose I’d choose Grade!
@lolczyslaf2 күн бұрын
Pure suffer fest! Love it! I personally think you should focus more on building your FTP than just racing with Z2 and Z6 intervals. Higher FTP would give you that power needed for breakaways and sustained efforts after attacks. Also, it develops all yours zones at the same time, so overall you get better. Great way to do it is build me up plan on zwift, each time I finish it (also confirmed by all my friends) it ends up with rocket high racing form :) A form I have just once in a year which as from then gradually goes down entire season 😂
@DontGetDroppedCycling2 күн бұрын
I’ve started workouts for the bonus XP points on Zwift. Other than that no fat chance of doing a full program 🤪 I ain’t breaking Rule #1! I’ve been resting more lately which has made a significant difference but as ZwiftSZN has started up in full swing due to negative temps the Zwift fatigue is coming back!
@lolczyslaf2 күн бұрын
@DontGetDroppedCycling but they are fun! I promise 😂 and what fun you get after crushing everyone in first race afterwards 😎 and you can fine tune time your plan will take ;)
@DontGetDroppedCycling2 күн бұрын
Oh I've done workouts and if you wanna go way back into my video library you can find my first video series was the 4 week FTP builder... 0 fun was had during that time and I also talked like a robot. The order of events I look for are as follows when I get onto Zwift... 1. Find a Race 2. Find another Race 3. ok ok Group Ride Race 4. fine Group Ride then Race 5. ok it's late night and dead so Pace Partners then Race 6. PP even dead so Workout for XP... then Race
