This is certainly different from Psychology. With Psychology, you look at the other person. Making determinations outside of yourself seems easier than trying to get a (what I thought was a simple question. Kablooey) determination of ones self. Just stick with the percentages and you'll be fine...

We all think and we all feel. The T & F dichotomy is about decision-making. Feelers are not selfish and thinkers are not heartless. We all use both - the questions is which do we prefer to use more often. Feelers prefer to use their heart to make decisions while thinkers prefer to use logic.

It’s not that you can’t use feeling or thinking if you have the other, it’s just one is preferred. In the base cognitive functions everyone has both functions it’s just naturally some go through different orders and pairings. They all play off each other and it’s wise to see it as a spectrum not a black and white way

Feelers are usually more compassionate than thinkers because they are guided by their hearts more than they are with their heads. This does not make them any inferior to thinkers because it is something admirable - to be able to feel what others feel; to have the high emotional quotient that many thinkers don't have and that is absolutely necessary for the world to be balanced and thrive.

Not really. There are 2 kinds of each Thinking and Feeling. Some Thinkers are the stereotypical “brutal honesty” type (TJ), while some are critical but talk carefully (TP). Some Feelers are “sugar coating” (FJ), although they're more better described as diplomatic at best, and manipulative at worst. Other Feelers, however, are sincere about themselves, and can come across as stubborn or selfish (FP).

It totally depends on the situation at hand. I am usually very honest and blunt, not in a meanspirited way where I look to be an ass, but in a constructive way where I recognize the right of the person to have an opinion about my own opinion and to disagree with me if he can logically show why. That said, part of being a human is considering an individual's situation and feelings. The key here, however, is to never let emotions cloud judgment. It never leads to good results and that's how I've always been. So if a friend asks me how her dress looks and I don't like it, I'll tell her that it is not my style and make a suggestion for a different dress - a solution if you will. If I have an underperforming "subordinate" at work, I will be honest and tell him what I've seen and ask him as an equal how he thinks things can be improved and what will be done going forward to help him grow. I take strong issue with the insinuation that thinkers are cold and overly critical when there is a way to get things done with full honesty, all while building UP the person rather than tearing him down. I strongly believe that these two dichotomies are flawed. They don't capture how people operate.

"Society does not value women who are perceived more “blunt” than “emotional”" Completely wrong. Most men prefer blunt women, especially in a professional environment. Dating, on the other hand, is different. But in the work place, do leave the emotions out of it, things run much smoother. There's a difference between directness and bossiness, society doesn't like bossiness, be it from women or men. Be assertive, and outline your rationale, every gender appreciates that

The law is something to be applied on a case-by-case basis, considering the level of damage, both to property and people, remorse of the perpetrator, conditions that led to the crime, the victims suffering. An blunt, objective application of law would bode well at all. Exceptions and context is important. For example, when northern judges refused to lynch escaped slaves from the south.

Temperament is all about what drives you at your core and what is most important to you, so sometimes it's usually fairly easy to recognize which Temperament fits you best. And the NF and NT Temperaments are VERY different, so those two videos should really help you see whether you're a T or an F. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up! Thinkers and Feelers definitely define "fair" differently and that can create problems until you understand MBTI. Then it becomes easier to understand why some people are sticklers for rules and don't make any exceptions even for good reasons (treating everyone the same = fair to thinkers) and why other people hold some people to the rules but make exceptions for others depending on their personal circumstances (treating everyone as an individual = fair to feelers). It's really helpful once you understand the motivations for behaviors like this! Did it help you understand other's decisions better?

It’s based upon your cognitive functions so it’s not that your not feeling if your thinking or not thinking if your feeling, it’s what’s preferred over the other. You can have introverted or extroverted versions of this and all cognitive functions play upon each other. This video just doesn’t get too specific. So you Always have these core functions, it’s just what’s preferred

I hate when they explain concepts rather than doing a picture test, for example. Does that make me more of a sensor than an intuitive?
@willowtreetraining

It sounds like you're more of a Sensor. Sensors like examples that they can see rather than vague concepts. Sensors want information that is objective and concrete - that's probably why you don't like it when people just explain concepts without showing you what they're talking about specifically.

This video does not correctly represent thinking and feeling. First of all we all feel, however, persons who make decisions based on their feelings are often times selfish. Thinkers on the other hand can look past their own feelings and consider how their decision affects others.

Feelers aren't selfish, they become subjective because they think about how each decisions will affect others, then they will choose wich one is better be used, even though it will seen as 'unfair' for some others. Sometimes they even sacrifice themselves so the other will get a better option

What about being a thinker in one context and a feeler in another? It seems that any proper living should yield roughly center results, as such a person understands both the value and skills of both ends of any of these spectra. Why be limited to one extreme and lack the other? Extraversion vs introversion might be the only MBTI spectrum where the poles are not purely inferior to the center.

Before watching So i tested 68 procent felling on my test personally I think that I'm a thinker. After watching I am even more devided now, the result i got from my test probably arrives from language i took it in English witch is a second language

Yes, it sounds like your results may not be totally accurate because English is your second language. What are your other MBTI letters? You might be able to use Temperament or whole type to help you decide for sure between Thinking and Feeling.

this is great and all, but mbti does not use dichotomies, it uses cognitive functions, so this isn’t really true mbti, it follows the 16 personalities system more. please don’t market your content as mbti content if it’s not centered around the true theory.

I’ve been certified in MBTI and using it in my daily work for almost 15 years, and I do use the "true" MBTI theory. MBTI uses a lot of different terms, including both dichotomies and cognitive functions. If you look at the MBTI manual and the MBTI booklet “Introduction to Type,” you’ll see that the MBTI Preference Pairs (E-I, S-N, T-F, & J-P) are also called dichotomies. In MBTI, the terms preference pairs and dichotomies are used interchangeably. What you’re talking about are the cognitive functions which is different than the preference pairs or dichotomies. Only the two middle letter pairs/dichotomies, (S-N and T-F), are called cognitive, or mental, functions. The other two preference pairs/dichotomies, (E-I and J-P), are called attitudes or orientations. Even though each type only has two of the cognitive/mental functions in its four letters (ISTJ for example has “S” and “T”), everyone uses all of the mental/cognitive functions. But each type uses the mental functions in a particular order and the attitudes determine this order. So even though an ISTJ and an ESTP have the same two middle letters (or functions), they are used in different ways because their attitudes (I-E and J-P) are different. ISTJ’s cognitive functions are: Dominant Si, Auxiliary Te, Tertiary F, and Inferior Ne but ESTP’s cognitive functions are: Dominant Se, Auxiliary Ti, Tertiary F, and Inferior Ni. They are the same letters, but are used very differently depending on whether they are introverted or extraverted functions. Finally, I’ve been trained and certified on how to help people determine and understand their best-fit MBTI type. Talking about the differences between the MBTI letters and the dichotomies is the best way to do that. If I get too in-depth about cognitive functions and the difference between introverted and extraverted functions, etc. with people who have no knowledge about MBTI, it is overwhelming and confusing. But just because I don’t talk about MBTI at this depth in all of my videos doesn’t mean I don’t understand it at that depth. And it certainly doesn’t mean that I use 16 Personalities. 16 Personalities strips MBTI of all of Jung’s underlying concepts and theories, adds a fifth letter, and mixes it with the Big Five personality traits. That’s not what I use in my videos. I hope this clears things up for you!

MBTI isn't the most competitive personality theory to begin with. I just wish we had one that could surpass the Big 5's validity while also offering meaningful categorization (like what MBTI tries to do)
