What ages do you find these best for? Can they be used for middle school/highschool?

Yes - MOH can be used in middle school and possibly high school with added reading or assignments. She does give activity and projects based on Younger/Older Student Guidelines. We have only used this in elementary and sometimes into middle school. We tend to use Notgrass History courses in the high school years.

I have kids with learning disabilities. I have a 10, 13, and 2x15 year olds, but those oldest are maybe 2nd grade level. Trying to find something engaging. Also, how does it take each day. They cannot sit long especially my 10 year old. We prefer the unschooling method, but I feel they are missing some good history. Did you use the cookbook?

While written in a more narrative style than most textbooks, the MOH is still kinda "textbook-y" if that makes sense. Story of the World might be more engaging to read for them. MOH can take as long as you want it to - if you just want to simplify read the lesson, that's great. If you want to add in hands-on activities, you can. We didn't personally do any cooking with this. We always enjoyed creating figures to add to our timelines for each lesson.

Yes! The Companion Guide includes lists of books and other resources for each lesson or topic and they are even divided out into appropriate books for younger, middle, and older students.
