What's New At COROS? // April 2024 Software Update

That screen mirroring feature is great. Really helped me on my hike yesterday, when I got a little bit lost. My Coros Pace 3 doesn't have maps, but by using this feature you can see exactly where you are on the map on your phone and see your route. Great feature.

Happy to see and hear of these updates. Just switched COROS a few weeks ago (Pace 3), and am very happy with this watch. While I didn't realize it offered no ANT+ connectivity, have been able to work around that so far. Thanks for your stellar updates Matt.

I've been missing virtual pacer on my Coros Pace 3 (also on Amazfit Stratos 2). I remember this feature from Garmin FR60 and FR70... good old days!!🙈🙂 I'm also excited for screen mirroring options (for cycling)...😎

Yeah, that's be nice to have in here. I think it'll get a few more refinements before it's in a public release. Currently it's really hard to tell where you are compared to the pacer. Yes, I love the fact that COROS supports their older devices. Other companies need to see this and follow them!

Relating back to the watch metric labeling, in addition to rotating the crown and pressing a button to ring back the labels for 5 seconds, you can also briefly tap the screen to bring back the labels. It is much easier this way and requires a little less work

@@mlegrand I'm beta tester, been using since about mid-march. Very solid! Works great, some minor bugs have been addressed and should be near perfect now. Some things were removed for fine tuning but will be out in the very near future (next month ish?)

Does this means we get different hr zones for cycling or it will use the running zones? This screen mirroring would be great with some cheap basic cycling computer, where the watch has the processing power, but you have the larger screen on the computer

I haven't seen any changes to cycling heart rate zones. Yeah, it's a nice alternative to a cycling computer. I'm sure the software team at COROS will iterate on this and make it even better. Thank you for watching and taking the extra time to comment. I really appreciate it. 👍

Hi Matt, thanks for this great video. Would you recommend the Coros Pace 3 with all these new updates over the Garmin FR 255? I am also considering the FR165, I'm starting on this running life.

Garmin already has the map mirroring to the Explore app while navigating and has had Virtual Partner for years.

I've always been impressed with the fact that COROS makes these big updates and doesn't just hold them back for only new devices. Poi and street names would be awesome, but from experience (at least to me) on a 1.4 inch watch face they are less than ideal and tend to get cramped and smashed together. Granted you have to carry a phone, but by navigation mirroring to the phone screen it is much easier to see street names, trail names, poi, etc and overall is actually easier to do (and quicker) due to screen size and phone processing power. Another awesome thing about this is that the road/trail/poi/etc/map data are all updated on the Coros app (via openstreetmaps) on a weekly basis so you will always have the latest most up to date maps

@@swipper74 yeah but no....street names, road names even on small screen is better than nothing if you don't run with phone. Switched from Garmin to AWU with main idea to not carry phone with me - can't live without Training effect and training load so got myself Coros as experiment and now I am using two watches for run - ultimate dream is Coros, Garmin, Suunto, Polar grade of fitness watch with eSIM for emergency or Lifetrack features. . AWU and Coros and comparing date etc. Garmin had more agreement about distance with AWU, then Coros but I hope Stryd pod will sort distance issues on Coros.
