Good to know the place is holding up against the flood. Thanks

It’s nice to see Guyana is building new structures, but some of these designs are not modern. I feel like most of the Guyanese builders don’t have an aesthetic eye or they don’t have experience. As an oil rich country, infrastructure is low standards. Maybe, some of builders need international help or they should travel to other countries to see how they build modern buildings.

I completely agreed I have been saying the same thing, but I don't think that they are motivated to do so. They have the whole of South America at their door steps and won't even go there to see the architecture to improve their skills.

I’m sure they are well aware they just have an old mindset and want things to look they way that they want too. Sadly the people with the ideas don’t have the funds and no connections..

We ate at that New Pegasus when we were in Guyana last month. Sadly didn't get to properly see the seawall but we saw the joggers from the hotel window.

Hi Raphael thanks for the vids !, was hoping you'd do a nice lengthy west ruimveldt one, I've seen the ones for east ruimveldt and Mandela Ave, but noticed some changes around the foundry,fire station, got any history for West ? Thx again,keep up the good work 👍🏿🙏

Thanks for the video....don't mean to be too picky, but the way they are adding upper floor to those beach shops seems like playing it by ear. The upper level offers a better view, but those crude rails and no facilities for shops seem to be a waste, or maybe the designer is still thinking about it. Handicap ramps and lift needed to access that facilities. Still don't understand why the designer is not covering up those open drains in front of the shops? Is it a guyanese habit to build and walk over open drains?

The ppp cheap. 😅look at the DPP building and police buildings. With all this oil money we have , we not improved on our game to build world class's infrastructure. No, we are doing things just like when we were poor. 😢
@josephwinslow76132 ай бұрын
I guess that you love to complain just to complain. Because, only, a childlike person or a pea brain would call someone cheap over a public building that they have built. So, come up with a worthy or serious complaint.

If the ppp crime family spent more of that oil money on better infrastructure then that would mean less money to steal for themselves which is all they really care about!
@rda60292 ай бұрын
Turning that wharf area into a riverfront destination is a no brainer but the reason why the ppp crime family will refuse to do it is simply bc it will benefit the local population of Georgetown and the hateful ppp want them to suffer in mud into perpetuity!
@josephwinslow76132 ай бұрын
So, what about all the developments and new buildings that are going up all over Georgetown. And the big hotel project by foreigners from the Middle East?

@@josephwinslow7613what about it? What’s your point? Are any of those buildings being erected for government employees who by the way some of their offices look like the rename t yard😢? Not to mention the old as hell school buildings with no AC for kids no sidewalks. Hush!

@@josephwinslow7613As you can see we are moving like a turtle here. I hope those people from Qatar bring their own builders because it seems their is no critical thinking skills with Guyanese builders. This video shows that the sea wall promenade is nice, but let’s be real here this is not modern. 🤔

@@daenita08 Qatari "builders" in Qatar tend to be firms from CCP (Chinese government affiliated) cronies that may recruit from destitute South Asian general labourers. However, the Qataris hire design and engineering supervision which could be the best in the world that billionaires can buy. I don't even know if Guyana has an adequate local labour pool of skilled trades-persons anymore. It seems that brand new tiling and decorative masonry is falling to pieces before the job is even completed. I too have likened the pace of construction to that of a snail's crawl where I assessed the timeline for relatively straightforward projects shown in earlier videos. There isn't even an elevator or complex electrical/mechanical services in that little two and a half storey concession building yet it remains half unfinished. On the positive side, we must be grateful that it's a big improvement over the former rag-tag concession huts that were once making the Seawall area look like a backwater embarrassment and impeding road traffic. It's not ultra modern but it's some improvement.
